Since Supes starts off in the Yamcha pose, I'm going to say Doomsday is in it and thay all have to team up to fight him. Like CW Bats v. Supes.
There have been leaks for this film. The main villain, besides Lex, will be a clone he creates going under the alias Ultraman. The clone will degrade throughout the film and become Bizarro by the end.

Bizarro say, "Yes! Movie will be masterpiece! Not embarrassing turd that destroys careers!"

when I was 10 I remember complaining to my dad I wanted a superman vs bizarro movie because the weird evil superman in 3 wasn't bizarro or long enough and my dad said "son, they aren't going to make a movie where superman beats up a retarded guy"

He might be fucked when it comes to Superman since they're doing the public hates him plot beat again, which did not work last time.
this might be a weird take but the public's view of vigilantism means Superman probably would never be too hated by people, look at Luigi, even Zimmerman and Timmy were mostly approved of by the public with only the media and the media addicted being angry at him. Why does WB seem to think people wouldn't love some nigga that beats up bad guys at worst and saves people's lives at best is saving people's lives when all hope is lost.

Why not have a film about the opposite, have Clark have a crisis of conscience because he can't seem to live up to the ideals people think he holds? Like we're all at the point where some nigga punching a rich dude would have the entire internet cheering him on, why does WB seem to think otherwise?

iirc 4 was supposed to have a Bizzaro form for Nuclear Man before he became 80s Movie Adam Warlock but it got cut

iirc 4 was supposed to have a Bizzaro form for Nuclear Man before he became 80s Movie Adam Warlock but it got cut
4 had like a whole other movie cut out of it. I've never seen any of the deleted stuff but I looked into it once and there's something crazy of an hour+ worth they filmed and threw in the trash that was the middle of that movie. as bad as the final product is, that shit must have SUUUUUCKED.

I don't know why we have to always reinvent the wheel. just do fucking bizarro. we don't have to make him some bastardization of the ultraman name first. he doesn't have to be from bizarro world, just make him a failed clone from the jump. why over complicate this shit? if they think it's kind of goofy, just don't give him a name. just have lex send out fake superman to make good superman look bad and have him start deteriorating and become bizarro, no need to call him ultraman and hide him in some other costume. it's not clever, or interesting to combine these things for an easter egg or misdirection, it's a waste of time. I can't say I care about Ultraman or Earth 2 or whatever but it's just stupid to do that. it's like if they made a batman movie where a guy is introduced called bane and it ends up being some other guy like hugo strange in disguise. why even bother?

take this with some salt because who knows but allegedly test screenings have started and people are really down the middle on Superman. no idea why, I wonder if it's just not very good or there is something divisive about it. the buzz is that tonally it feels like Captain America First Avenger but I have no idea how or really what that even means. I didn't like TFA when it came out but I expected a war movie with Captain America because I was in high school and retarded and got a movie where dudes shot laser guns at each other and the whole war was waved away in a montage. I feel like that movie is pretty good (especially compared to the MCUs output down the line) so if anything that's kind of a good sign to me. that said I don't think TFA feels any different than any other MCU movie really and I don't particularly want that out of this so who knows. it's best not to really think about it until we actually see more of the movie or hear confirmed spoilers or something.

that happens while the original Bane is busy working in the indie comics as B.A. Knee after he had a falling out with DC management

yeah I can see how looking forward to Saving Private Barnes and getting Rocketeer 2 - This Time It's Captain America would be a let-down

The new Superman movie is being made just to be a meta commentary on The Boys. Ultra Man is the main villain of the film and is designed to look like Black Noir, rather than the Superman knock-off from the comics.

If I had to take a guess, the film is just going to be a bastardized Superman vs The Elite, except replace the Elite with Ultraman/Bizarro and the Authority as the edgy superheroes that kill.

The sad part is, in a way, I actually like a lot of the ideas, but I hate how this movie seems like an abomination of mashing shit together. Superman vs The Elite would be a great 2nd movie, pushing Superman’s character to remain consistent to the first in a world that is blatantly trying to move away from him. But I feel you need a first movie to establish the public liking him, which makes the plot of SvE work as people start to see the errors of violence when it is dished out on Superman.

Bizarro would honestly be a great first villain as you have someone as strong as Clark, but heavily deserving of Superman’s kindness. Clark usually has to use his head to deal with Bizarro as getting into a fist fight won‘t really accomplish much. Honestly, just make Bizarro like STAS and you can easily get around the Superman fighting a tard. A Frankensteins monster that, while confused, can be reasoned with and gets his big hero moment by the end.

chuck needs the check I guess. he actually is probably doing well because DC can't do anything but reprint Knightfall every two weeks.

there was that poster of him holding the shield in what seemed to be debris from an explosion around him and it was advertising what I thought I was going to see. I knew it had Red Skull and the cosmic cube but I thought sandwiched in there would be an actual war movie. when I found out after it was the Rocketeer guy who made it I softened up on it, (it was a childhood favorite movie of mine) and I got what they were doing, it just wasn't what I wanted at all. but really that's the story of my life with Superhero movies, they make these things and I get it, but it's never what I want out of any property it seems like. I didn't hate TFA when it came out, I was just disappointed it wasn't what I hoped for, I was however the only guy to walk out of Avengers opening night a year later and proclaim "it fuckin' sucked" on the car ride home.

I'm sure that is what they're doing, he'll die a hero in the end and the authority and clark will join forces to stop lex or whoever because of his sacrifice. really I just think it all sounds paint by numbers in the least interesting way. "how do we make superman relevant?" "make a movie where everyone shits on him and he has to prove he was right by caring about bizarro" that's gay as fuck. another meta commentary nobody wants, needs, or likes. thanks you retards.

I feel this way more and more on a lot of superhero and supervillain origins in general as I get older. Even when they harken back to the Golden Age and sooner or later you have to update some elements to modern-day sensibility and plausibility, a lot of those original ideas worked for a reason. Keeping it simple means you can do so much more.

There's a reason you can condense Superman's origins into four panels as Grant Morrison did or Batman's origin into a simple sentence of "a billionaire saw his parents murdered as a child and swore revenge on criminals using his wealth and training against them."

I agree.

Would honestly just like them to play Bizarro straight without it devolving into a rant about The Boys. Bizarro isn’t even a character that really works for that, and just leaves me perplexed as to why Gunn doesn’t just use the team literally designed as a response to those comic characters. If he wants to do Superman vs The Elite, just do it, don’t make it some weird mishmash of Bizarro and the Authority.

that its bland, literally like how people responded to superman returns "oh thats neat, sure i'll watch it if its on" but its not a billion dollar box office style film, people will be talking about years from now like MoS or superhero movies in general. To put it another way its a lot like the reception to Red One that came out recently, like people probably won't pay to watch it opening weekend but if its on streaming or cable they'll watch it.

In general superman returns is extremely odd because of how little people online cared about it, you can watch the super oldest youtube movie reviewers talk about it and even guys like RLM just didn't have much to say beyond "its ok" and despite it coming out at a time when everyone online was obsessing over every "nerdy" thing that film was just a giant shrug. even the box office, it made its money back but it wasn't a smash hit. IIRC it was the highest grossing super hero movie of all time when it released, but it didn't have the cool factor.

the first captain america is a great example because its a very by the numbers film, exactly what you expect from a captain america film but its not something people say "i have to see opening night!" and instead its a film people catch on streaming or watch at a friends place. Like no one would pay $100 to watch it.

And while that was perfectly fine back in 2010 for Captain America, people weren't used to being able to wait a month or two and catch any film they want for free on their subscription services like they are now. if you aren't inspiring people to dress up and watch your film, chances are they'll literally just wait for it to come out.

Like you said, you got what you wanted, its a C+ film, people only watch it as part of the marathons and it doesn't stand out. its not Thor levels of bad but if it weren't part of the MCU people wouldn't know it exists. you're compared it to the 20s goyslop, but in 2019 it was just a film people didn't have negative opinions on, plus the difference in tone and quality compared to the rest of the captain america films or phase two and 3 really shows how bland it was. they could have easily pulled a hulk style retcon and no one would have been angry about it.

non-tony stark phase one in general was sort of all bland films, like what you'd expect from a streaming site like netflix or disney+ than the crazy shit the films would become.

one of the best things about American Alien that is what i would want in a superman film is that it did sort of the exact opposite, like it spends 0 time on the Krypton stuff but heavily focuses on why a Kansas kid becomes a hero, and it handles it in a way that reminds me a bit of Chronicle where if the writer got told to fuck off by DC he could have easily made it about a kid from Iowa instead who one day gets powers and it turns out the same way. The entire first third of the miniseries is about Clark's parents dealing with their "weird" son, helping him control his powers, and teaching him about "truth, justice, and the american way" so that later on when he does see crime in the big city, he doesn't shy away from helping.

I know this is a weird thing, but if you ever read books or see plays or musicals or international films about war heros its a bit like that. Sgt York was the biggest hero in america in ww1, and his film plays out with his whole life story before he gets sent off to war, and thats how i'd have my superman film, sure he can deal with the big 3rd act film of him destroying a villian but before that is all about what it takes to turn a kid into the man who sees a bank robbery and stops it. Like the powers aren't the biggest part of superman to me, its him stepping up and i feel that even if he wasn't powered he'd still be the type of guy to be on the Neighborhood watch or joining the national guard or volunteering at the soup kitchens and in a modern diverse world where no one's really doing that a film hyping up those types of people is really all i want from a superman film. plus its a lot cheaper, you know they can't afford more than like 10 minutes of superman showing off his powers in a 2 hour film.

That’s so gay. It’s probably 100% true. I am calling it now. WB will start doing MCU re-shoots. Looks like the bad test screening might be true. There are already rumors that WB wants Robert Patterson Batman added to the film as an end credit scene.

I wouldn't trust anything Midnights Edge says. They have been saying they had inside news that Kathleen Kennedy was going to be fired by Disney for years, also said back during season 1 of Star Trek Discovery that it was canceled, it ended up getting 5 seasons.

New Superman could very well be shit, but they have no insider knowledge of it or any test screenings. They just say shit that they know will get the views.

It's just really funny how easy it is to grift nerds by making fanfiction about how things are going in the industry and anyone would believe them if it matches their confirmation bias. People will believe literally anything.

youtube automatic monetization and its consequences have been a disaster for nerds gossiping about rumors

Yes. Pointing out all the origins of the bad early screenings, rumors were from Zack Snyder himself and journalists with a long history of being anti-David Zaslav long before he became CEO of WB. That’s totally insider knowledge and not common sense suspicious reporting.

Nigger we can see it, “The Batman” was set to be the future for WB’s hottest property, the sequel should’ve been out by now. It’s clearly being sabotaged, writing is on the crumbling wall.

You shouldn’t go to bat for bad people, they won’t give you the participation award. Unlike the “Kathleen is totally getting fired” rumours this shit is clear as day.

Jason Momoa To Play Lobo In ‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’

Jason Momoa, star of Warner Bros and DC‘s Aquaman films, has been tapped to play Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, Deadline has confirmed.

Momoa has been linked to the role of Lobo since before James Gunn came in to lead DC alongside Peter Safran. He’s been vocal in the past about his interest in the part and today confirmed his attachment to the role in a post on Instagram, where he screenshotted comments from a past interview.

“So Lobo was…I collect comics, and I don’t do so much anymore, but he was always my favorite, and I always wanted to play Lobo, because I’m like, ‘Hello? It’s the perfect role,'” said the actor. Momoa went on to say that should DC come around asking him to play Lobo, it would be “a f*ck yeah.” Alongside the Instagram screenshot, Momoa posted a caption this morning that reads, “They called.

An antihero known for his violent and irreverent personality, who hails from the planet Czarnia, Lobo possesses superhuman strength, regenerative abilities, and an invulnerability that makes him a formidable opponent. Created by writer Roger Slifer and artist Keith Giffen, the character is often depicted as a bounty hunter who enjoys chaos and destruction. He was first introduced in “Omega Men” #3 in June 1983.

Plot details for the new Supergirl are under wraps. As previously reported, House of the Dragon‘s Milly Alcock landed the title role after a long search, with Matthias Schoenaerts boarding as villain Krem of the Yellow Hill. More recently, Eve Ridley came on to play the part of Ruthye Mary Knolle .

Craig Gillespie will direct from a script by Ana Nogueira. The project is based on Tom King’s 2022 comic book series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which Bilquis Evely illustrated. DC bosses Gunn and Safran will produce, with DC EVP Chantal Nong executive producing. Production kicks off on January 13.

Momoa is repped by WME and Edelstein, Laird & Sobel. View his Instagram post below.
