Now I liked the original Dead Space just fine, but asking me to shell out money for this remake, considering all the changes others have mentioned and the fact that I've already bought the Tranny Murder Sim 3000 (aka Hogwarts Legacy) and used that fact to make 2 people I know IRL absolutely assblasted, means that I'll skip on this for now.

Maybe when it's on sale and the dumb shit gets modded out.
Are mods going to be a thing for this? Were there any significant mods for the original?

The original has a great artstyle that's aged very well. If you slap a texture pack and reshade on the OG it looks only slightly worse and you saved $60.

That is one of my problems with the remake. What I hate about modern games is how they try too hard to make a game look “realistic” but now no game has any hand drawn look. The old God of War games had an artstyle, now they have a boring look. The Last of Us had an artstyle, then the sequel had a boring look. Now with Dead Space.

I'm not paying for this because its a straight-up remake of a game I played a zillion times and there are some problems that werent fixed and instead they added more shit that nobody asked for.

If anything I would pay for Dead Space 4.

I swear. It's almost like the Dead Space remake making fun of corporations tweeting gay rainbow flags and tranny flags that later censor LGBT content and black people in China and the Middle East, but it's all accidental. I doubt EA games, along with western game devs, will ever mock rainbow capitalism and diversity quotas. Every ad in dead space hammered in how inclusive they are, like it's a joke. But we all know better. Far Cry 5 was supposed to have a pro-gun control message.

It isn't exactly fine, but consider this: because of Rowling Derangement Syndrome buying and playing Hogwarts Legacy has turned into me personally murdering trannies DESPITE what you've linked. So it gets my money, while I can still play the original Dead Space just fine AND potentially get to pirate the remake in the future.

Yeah I think most of the woke stuff can be ignored. Kendra’s line at the beginning is forgettable and most people probably won’t notice the tranny bathrooms unless someone told them about it. What really bothers me is the character models. Issac and Kyne look nothing like the original characters and Nicole and Kendra are just ugly. That’s where I genuinely get taken out of the game.

I guess I'll add a quick addendum to my thoughts while people are still sperging about the woke stuff.

It's definitely a negative to the game however it's passive in the overall experience, easily ignorable. Kendra having a girlfriend is the only thing verbally put in your face and it's over as soon as you hear it. Isaac is not getting emasculated, He isn't getting rescued by stoic minority woman #37 or getting choked out by Trans athlete Abby. 99% of the stuff can be plucked out with a mod like the Spiderman one that replaced the pride flags with American flags.

What's more pressing are the character changes other users pointed out. Kendra being more empathetic and Isaac trying to save her at the end, Nicole's reason for being on the ishimura is different (this one stunk), Hammond got a wimpy death etc.

If you don't want to give a cent to the ideologues I sincerely get it but there is good effort here worth at least a $10-20 entry fee IMO.

Agreed. On the other hand though, if the woke stuff wasn't included, we wouldn't get this not-well-thought-out moment.
