Deadlock - An FPS MOBA by Valve.

Orcs Must Die already tried this formula with Orcs Must Die Unchained. They shut the servers down 2 years after release because the game was running at a loss for consecutive months.

I don't see how this will be any different. At best it will be another mediocre indistinguishable hero shooter.

I miss when Valve made original and technologically advanced games, not this goyslop tripe.

This is Valve money though. One Steam sale nets them enough to fund serves for years.

It's less about the money and more about player numbers in this case.
Just look at Artifact, over 95% player count decrease 2 months after relase and Valve simply abandons the project shortly after.

Deadlock being a 6v6 competitive game has an even lower player count loss threshold for Valve to deem the project a failure.

Artifact, Dota Underlords and now this. Volvo has truly lost it.
They should just go back to what they did well and just buy popular mods. Imagine if they had hired the DayZ fag or PlayerUnknown before those other companies...

Valve has the benefit of pushing out absolute slop like this but will get a group of diehard fanboys who will defend it since its valve, most valve fanboys here will complain about it being multiplayer and blah blah but typically valve does what the industry does and they slide by from critique. Horrible battle passes(Dota 2), abhorrent loot boxes that make Korean gachas blush , the death of user owned servers, the push for matchmaking, and the push for esports.

Yet Valve all little angels to most. The thing is this game can flop and it will be a blip on the radar just drop a new CSGO case to recoup losses. What sucks is I feel with this kind of money safety net valve has they *should* in theory make more games to see what sticks but they dont.

So tell us, Valve, what's your unique new take on this warmed-over genre? What's the big draw?

it is a blend of Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, Valorant, Smite, and Orcs Must Die, while the hero design is inspired by the Dota universe.

So... nothing. This is actually an old bit from sketch comedy, where a 30 second elevator pitch for a movie is just rattling off everything the guy watched on Netflix that week.

Why must they keep doing this? Valve is already printing money because it's virtually a monopoly as all it's competition shoots itself in the foot at every opportunity and nobody wants to switch to using a different game store but they STILL only want to try to get into the stupid live service crap they've already failed at. Why can't they make a fucking 3 which would not only give them prestige, but would also fucking sell a lot for all the anticipation. Hell, make a new single player fucking game... just anything but live service slop. Jesus, they'd make way more money if they just re-committed to fixing and updating TF2 which already has a loyal audience and is basically the grandfather of the fucking genre they created.

Why don't they just sell more hats? I can tell you exactly how this game will go:

1. Valve releases this game
2. Twitter and friends go insane "WOW THIS IS THE BEST GAME OF THE YEAR IT'S SO UNIQUE"
3. A few people will start playing it "professionally" and hold e-sports tournaments for it.
4. Twitter porn artists will start hyper fixating on one specific character and make tons of porn of them.
5. Valve starts trying to turn a profit with costumes/skins
6. Someone on Twitter posts a screenshot from the game's code and shows that it takes a screenshot of your computer when the game is open without telling you.
7. More and more hackers start finding way to cheat on it and people get annoyed and stop playing.
8. The developers make a shitty decision that no one likes and the player base drops.
9. More and more people stop playing the game and the game eventually dies, THE END.

Of all things, why this? Who asked for an Overwatch-Dota mashup? How many 6v6 sweat-fests do we need?
Also the archer character's design looks like dogshit. The black facial hair with the white wig is garish and laughable. This is all leaked photos though so I'm not gonna be too critical of it yet.

I'd rather play Deadlocked.
Hey, that's my line, you cocksucker!
