Deadlock - An FPS MOBA by Valve.

nyways that's by 2 cent break from the housework I was doing.
-the damage fall off is really important. ANY game with a higher TTK than battlefield will by nature draw players towards each other to increase kill potential, Halo was like this. spartan's diving on top of their targets to ensure they do max damage and decrease the likelihood of escape. tf2 is also like this with most weapons being shotguns or slow moving projectiles. All skillful engagements take place in cqb in any game, its where you are at the most risk of dying, where your aim and team comp matters more. your likley hood of escaping is much less when someone is right in front of you so you'll probably have to kill them to survive or have the game sense to have abilities off cooldown. abilities you could have used to deal damage, that's the choice you have to make. If we did have no or little damage drop off, fights would take place between walkers and would be touch and go untill someone was low and would retreat. at that range anyone can easily escape and nobody could catch you
-The map is vertical simply because its a 3d game and it makes sense to have verticality, If you play again try ganking someone from a roof top or using them to escape
-The amount of items feels appropriate, it really lets you experiment and get creative. they really exist for your benefit to help you excel in your playstyle. Its not like im going to change my playstyle if someone can fire their gun %20 faster, The big boy items that your build is centered around all have counters. If you decide to keep playing eventually youll learn what items you should be buying to counter hero's if need be. if you are fighting an abrams who cannot die you can buy decay that will prevent him from healing, slowing hex on lash so he cannot get away
-The towers will protect you but will prioritize creeps, This is so you can actually push it without waiting to be overpowered. the towers will burn you if you try to extend for a low heath kill. your goal should be to clear their creeps. if you cannot because you are at low health, it just means you should have played better in that wave and thats the advantage your enemy gets for playing better
-the parry is not that hard to pull off and is great if you can land it because you'll probably kill the guy

-Sevens ult is not as strong in higher elos. my infrunis can out heal his damage, charters like haze can be hard countered with metal skin which will totally negate her alt. some characters need to be nerfed like abrams because he cannot be killed sometimes and can out heal me nomatter what
-the snipers still suffer from damage falloff gray talons charge shot can be dogged if you see it coming at range

I played recently and it's just not a fun game.

The graphics are dull and boring, they remind me of a mod for TF2 or some early source engine game. The art design is pretty bland and un-inspired. The level design is pretty decent with lots of little places to maneuver.

The gunplay is terrible - I don't even know why they have guns. Guns do so little damage and you have to constantly shoot and reload them to generate souls or do damage. It's tiring and feels fundamentally wrong to have such small damage for a shooter based game.

The heroes are also bland with very generic skills. Most of them are not fun to use and remind me of other games abilities. It's like valve took TF2 and Dota2 and smashed them together - the results could have been nice but is really ugly.

Just my opinion.

The game is in an (actual) alpha state. The art will get improved later on. So this point is moot

Gun builds are consistently the best builds in the game. You are likely not properly building your guns which results in low dps. As well regarding creeps, just wait for them to duke it out and shoot at them when they're low hp. Or better yet melee them if you want to conserve your ammo.

Your last point is just opinion, anyway I think you suck at playing video games.

Hey, totally fair - I just don't think this game is for me. I play games for fun and don't give a fuck what others think. Just adding my 2 cents to the discussion.

I played a little but I really struggle with builds/items, Guess I need to read up item descriptions.
Overall I like the game and it is something I have wanted for years after both monday night combat and super MNC died, sadly I see even more idiots to come in expecting a hero shooter/overwatch clone and shitting on it when the game isn't just shooting and pressing Q to win.

Something that upset me: being unable to browse builds outside of a match so I alt tabbed and checked the guides section on steam, they were mostly meme shit, ok use google and I get a reddit post saying "Just join my discord for the guide bro" at that point I wanted to flip my table, are people that fucking alergic to written guides that now everything has to be a video guide or discord server dedicated to a single character?

You should be able to brows builds in sandbox mode and make your own in peace and test them out.

When in buy menu there's a button top right that says browse builds.

Double bomb Bebop brings out the dopamine gremlin within me.

Hook, bomb, and stack go up.
Hmm~...

Game is fun although I fear that the community around it is shaping up to be even worse than current day TF2. The official Discord is already completely filled with wholesome trans folx who have a fixation with Ivy and the fact that Pocket's description uses they and them (despite it being a holdover of when his character wasn't even a human lol). Not sure what Valve was thinking when they put random Discord trannies in charge of moderating it, but then again who else would want to do so.

Before Valve killed the API she was the second least played character after M&K so it's remarkable how much damage signal boosting dedicated autists can do, especially with furries shitting out off-model art. First Talon being the ugliest character possible to show in leaked footage, now ugly Ivy art being the first thing people see related to this game, public perception of Deadlock is in dire straits.

Still the funniest interaction to have come out of this.

Speaking of Dark Willow, Valve had to come out and confirm Ivy's VA because many assumed it was Ashly Burch and kept bothering her with messages. However, they didn't deconfirm her like they did Ellen McLain, so it's possible she'll voice someone eventually (or, according to some, already voicing Vindicta).
After hearing about Sasuke Viscous I desperately need the official casting list.

People who partake in character fandom rarely even play the games the characters are from, making it doubly as annoying that they're the ones controlling the image of the game to outsiders.

On an unrelated note, it's surprising M&K are so unpopular since they're pretty easy and fun to play.

That was back then, M&K did get some tweaks last patch. Ivy still feels like ass.

It wouldn't be so bad if the people interested in Ivy were just goofy shitposters rather than troons and furfags, but I'm clearly far from the first to have said or thought this.

Started playing it recently and I'm having a blast. I guess I fell off the MOBA/ASSFAGGOTS wagon.

Theorycraft autism goes a long way, I made a custom build and turned an old injun man into a living woodchipper. His ultimate does kinda suck, but it still is effective for escalating team fights or to pick off low HP enemies.

I gave the game another chance and I like it. The graphics can be tweaked, but the core gameplay and map feels solid. It's like a slimed down version of Dota2 that does not take 45 minutes to find a damn game that has 2 leavers within 5 minutes.
What's your go-to role and rank? I feel like i have the exact opposite problem lol. You buttblast your lane opponent in this game and they just ragequit after the second or third death, and the rest of the game is a stomp because of it. Dota on the other hand will have everyone stay to the bitter end, whether it's a feedfest or not

Lol, I've played like 5 games so my experience may not be normal... I'm still trying to figure out which class/role I want to play - in Dota I was either support or roaming.

My first game I got killed twice in the first few min, but I stuck it out and someone on their team disconnected which kind of balanced the match.

Community seems more chill, but I have not played Dota in many years so it may have changed.

You clearly have not played much, the more you play and win you're matched with better players and thougher games, despite not being a rank yet.

The game is collecting so much data right now, they're gonna have a much easier job when they decide to get into the beta stage of the game.
Unlike dota, I think it is much more fun, way more objective and easier to understand, and if dota players do not quit games it is because if you do, you will not get the reward items post game that you could sell, that being the reason alone why CS2 is still top game despite all criticisms from people who think they know better.
