There were growing pains at first, but it's mostly that people don't like white men and hated Elon for allowing free speech again. The company is still worth less than it was but the financials are probably doing better just by sheer lack of employees.
I also tend to blame my shitty phone if something goes wrong, there's never been a massive outage or bug for me, but it's the culture people understand X now has that has brought out most of the hate.

The hate problem comes from Elon over promising and under delivering every time. Every promise he makes is off by half a decade usually and his guesses just suck.
He also does a lot of shady shit to keep his companies running and openly bailed out his brother using investor money.
Then there's the personal problems, you can tell he's African the way he seems to try and fuck any woman he can get his hands on.

Does there though? Look at trials: there’s no point system there, but it’s a debate between two sides with opposing views, and one very clear winner.
It may not be optimal, or the proper/best solution to the problem being discussed, but I don’t think you need a point system for this sort of competition.

The most critical view of Elon Musk is basically claiming he's one of the best salesmen in the world.
The reality is most of those people only dislike him because he offended one of their sensibilities and they can't acknowledge someone they dislike personally has impressive accomplishments and talent.
That isn't to say he's perfect, some of his ideas have been duds, he's made some unrealistic promises that were never realized, but anyone who has had that many ideas is bound to have a few failures. Many successful business owners go through multiple failures before finding success. He's created an incredible amount of successful businesses and brought innovative products to mass market. Very, very few people will do that once, hes an incredible anomoly to have done it multiple times. He's a very talented business man and any personal failings really can't change that.

I don’t think those are the criticisms I’d raise tbh. I don’t care if anyone graduated unless they’re operating on me or it’s something similar that needs you to pass exams to reach a set technical ability for a reason of safety.
PL but I know one very famous academic group where for at least 15 years all their breakthrough work was done by one person, a female technician who didn’t have a PhD and had no intention of getting one either. They all got famous off her , were vaguely embarrassed the technician was doing it all, nobody talked about it, and she was paid pennies and given minimal credit.
Not doing the nuts and bolts engineering - well if you own the company your job is different, you wouldn’t expect to do the work - you are supposed to have ideas and hire the best people to do it for you.
I don’t really care if he’s bilking the government tbh. They deserve it. Frankly the current lot in both sides of the pond deserve to be rocket ballast.
Things I like about Elon; rockets, mars stuff, buying twitter and the seething it generated, being funny as.

Musk is a shitter and you should wish ill upon him if youre a taxpayer. His empire grew from PayPal (scalping middle man shitco) and tesla (company he bought when it was ripe). Basically all of his ventures since PayPal have been to harvest government subsidies and Tesla acts as a siphon for retarded retail investors. He engages in transparent fraud through x and events to pump Tesla stock with his "heckin future-ino soyience" promises with just enough space to prevent criminal charges. The one nice thing I will say about him is that he's a great salesman and continues to sell bridges to retards. Ultimately he is a desperate and dishonest character of the highest order.
The funniest part about him is that because he's a brain rotted twitter tard he bought twitter and now owes Morgan Stanley a shitton of money for an asset that wasnt worth the price paid. The only CEO who's a bigger shithead is Pat Gelsinger.
