Here's my argument to close chat having an unarchived Discord wannabe. Chat goes against the spirit of Kiwifarms and the archive everything mentality as it actively discourages posters from contributing to threads. and creates a sort of black hole of forum drama and entertainment that could be better used and archived in a thread.

but tons of informative posts about homies and forum lore are posted there. It's not just nigger lol being posted; it's potentially informative threads being flushed down the drain.

if a user is posting archive-worthy information in the chat then one of two situations is occurring:
1) this information has already been posted and archived in the thread; you need to read the thread more
2) that user is an ape improperly using the chat function; if you care that much, DM them and ask where they got their info

lol meanwhile Keno chat has some of the heaviest stream archivers and thread contributors here (other than me, I’m just a retard who occasionally pops in). Chat is extremely useful while watching a stream together, and for coordination. Everyone knows general chat and kennel club are gay.

I agree with this in the sense there has been times when things have been discussed and even archived in chat, but that's not been carried over to the subject's forum / thread meaning that people who don't want / can't use Sneedchat lose out on context, funny moments and more. We should be thinking thread > DMs > chat.
