:politisperg: but this thread is already so fucked anyway lol

The real problem in America has to do with food deserts. If you're somewhere that has mom and pop shops, you'll get decent bread. Wasn't there an university town that got featured here because some dindu got caught helping himself to the products of whyte colonialism at a centuries old, family-run bakery, and the entire faculty wanted to trash the place on his behalf? That place will sell you some real bread...

...if it's still open, that is. The pandemic has greatly accelerated the demise of such places. Either they become gentrified to fuck, and maybe even become part of a chain selling the same NuBread(tm) but slightly better or straight up just shutter because this new crop of fat, hedonistic wiggers with munchies only care about shopping at the nearest Mart.

The end result is that country towns end up having a bunch of failing places + 1 giant Amerimart that doubles as a mall, gas station, landwhale clothing store, whatever the fuck else have you. Whereas broke nigger areas in bigger cities end up even worse off because the nearest "real" bakery is in hipster town, selling NuBread(c) to go at absurd prices.

It's a problem that's both cultural and economic. Cultural in so far as lazy, fat wiggers not caring to buy real food. Economic as in the pressures of wiggers voting with their wallets, urban development turning cities and towns into ghettoized, gentrified, individualistic and antipedestrian hellholes, and unfettered capitalism being allowed to just completely outcompete and then glob up ailing mom and pops (lazy, fat niggers wanting shit delivered to their doorstep) making it become near impossible to run anything resembling a real bakery. Or real anything, mind you.

Real, American apple cider being murdered by Coca-Cola was simply a prelude of what was to come.

I thought a Greta Thunsberg Eurocuck like you would care about the environment and the unnecessary extra printing and added electricity for processing that that adding tax would cause, especially when prices and taxes themselves change often.
How. Fucking. Dare. You.

Obama told us all that America is an idea. Rocky told us that you can change, I can change, anybody can change.

The dirty European cannot fathom the decadence of the superior American. Look upon that which we can buy from our common grocer.

Beechers Marco Polo pepper cheese, made in USA, looked tasty. Price $9.99
I am eating this now. $10 for 4 oz of pretty standard tasting cheddar cheese. Avoid if you see it, highly disappointed.

Does anyone think that null is just obviously right and the only opposition to his post is because people are sick of faggy smug Europeans bashing America on reddit? If you guys don't think European bread/cheese/meat is better, is there anything you'd be willing to consider Europe does better at all, culturally or otherwise?

Your curry is better, chicken tikka is great and I really like kebabs.

Old Croc, I have had this before. Its cheddar, is super sharp, its from Australia, and its delicious. Price $7.99

Ricotta Salata Cheese. price $7.97

Taleggio, made in Italy. Price $11.99

Beechers Marco Polo pepper cheese. Price $9.99

Red Wax Gouda, imported from Holland. Price $8.49

Alouette Goat Cheese crumbles, price $6.49

Babybel plant based white cheddar. Price your soul and $7.49
Holy fuck those prices are outrageous. You spent on cheese alone close to what I spend for an entire weeks shopping for two people. You shouldn't have to spend 60 bucks for what would barely fill a cheeseboard.

The selection does look a lot better than what I'd get at my local supermarket, that Marco Polo cheese in particular looks great but those are the sort of prices I would pay at an Artisan cheese shop, not the same place I load up on fucking Babybells. Have prices always been this fucked over there or is Bidenflation hitting you that hard?

Listen here, because you clearly don't listen well considering its been said 1000 times already:

Europeans may have easier access to high quality food by virtue of sheer population density. They live stacked together like Bangladeshis, and every block has a 500 year old this-or-that shop selling knigger loaf and cum cheese.

America is a spread out place, you will inevitably need to travel to find the best stuff. But you can. That is the point. It is not remotely impossible, and for the better part of the country it is barely an inconvenience.

This was a special treat, I normally wouldnt even buy cheese but this thread has been fun and I wanted to eat bread and cheese on my weekend. The Marco Polo cheese is a big disappointment so far, I just opened it and am eating it with water crackers for lunch. Its basically like a sargento with cracked black pepper.

Prices are fucked at the moment. Food prices are most normal Americans #1 complaint. That Old Croc is the only one of the list I have bought before, and it was $4.99. I could write paragraphs on how fucked grocery prices are, we are basically spending 30% more on everything, and thats not even including shrinkflation.

I understand that, and I have that in mind. But the point is that even the versions of the cheeses sold in America, encased in plastic, are all much more milder and more cheaply-made than what is equivalently as easy to find in Europe. If you go back, you'll actually see I defended the very point you're making; America is a much more sprawled out country and getting to places and things REQUIRES a car, etc.

But the ubiquity of these things in Europe vs. America... let alone the actual flavor and quality. I mentioned kabanos earlier. Compare European gas petrol station kabanos to Slim Jims. Have you tasted the difference?

Sure, I think they do a great job at protecting the environment and biodiversity and I think the idea of protecting traditional ways of making different kinds of foods is a smart idea. Overall Europe has a lot more commitment to preserving cultural traditions than the US, which has been increasingly homogenized over time.

Mass transit is much better, I don't have a problem with it whatsoever as long as I'm not being forced to use it. It'd be nice taking a high-speed train to my destination instead of a miserable, overpriced (and late) flight. Driving for work purposes isn't very fun either.

You think its all fucking slim-jims at gas stations? Maybe I should start taking pictures at the deli section in my local gas station because there's plenty of decent meat sticks, cheese, sandwiches, fruit, etc even at the gas stations here. You're comparing apples to oranges and then pretending there's no oranges here at all. That'd be like me walking into a Lidl, buying a bag of monster munch and comparing it to a bag of small-batch kettle chips from a store here.

And furthermore, the ubiquity of bland food is because Americans have bland taste, not because that's all there is. If Americans wanted stinky cum cheese they could have it, but they prefer cheddar.

No. He's not. However euriocucks, particularly Belgians, do beer far better than we do. Yes tbete is no a thriving craft beer scene in the U.S.A, and yes its getting better, but overall Europeans are just better at brewing beer, and the populace is more acclimated to drinkung beer that actually has flavor. Again, I've lived in Eastern Europe, and unlike null, I actually went out regularly, had girlfriends, went camping, rode motorcycles, went to bars, pubs, restaurants etc.

Are there regional meats/cheeses in Europe you cant find in the U.S.? Of course. I for one miss both Mittitei and Caschava, from central romania. Cant find either in the U.S. But thats a question of, for lack of a better term, recipe, not quality.

But in terms of quality? I was rarely impressed by the quality of meats in europe except in certain regions, and even then only certain things. Romanians for example produce very good pork, but thier beef is shit and chicken is average. Germans make good sausages, but neither their pork, beef, or chicken is anything but average. The U.K. has pretty good beef, but pork and chicken is average. Etc etc etc.

I'm well aware of what is in American gas stations, and what is in European petrol stations. I'm starting by just comparing the deadass cheapest options. There's no contest.

Well, yeah, nobody is arguing with that. It's not sold because there's no market for it. We're not arguing over the why, merely that this is the case. Americans have extremely bland taste, even compared to Western Europe, especially in more rural areas. Americans are extremely picky eaters.

You know, you do have a point here. Beef often in parts of Europe is kind of shit or waaaay too expensive since they raise pigs more than cattle. This is 100% on point and I'll concede that. Germans food is generally pretty dull though. Probably some of the most dull in Europe, actually, next to the Brits who had to colonize half the world just to bring home halfway decent ingredients to make inferior curries.

The actual superior meat is of course lamb, but that's a bit off topic.

I wish I still lived in the south because I would go take a picture of one of those gas stations. One I went to had an entire wall of every flavor imaginable smoked sausage.
Comparing that to the smoked sausage in Europe? Oh ho ho, that's blasphemy, sir.

A lot of Belgian beers are brewed using wild yeast which produces a different and interesting flavor profile vs. the standardized brewer's yeast strains used in most US beers. I have also never been able to find a single US pilsner that is remotely as good as the OG from Czechia.

Plus it's nice not having all IPAs all the time like most craft brewers in the US. I don't even think those are that good but for some reason that's like 75% of the selection no matter where you are. Plus, sours like Berliner Weisse or Gose are almost impossible to find domestically.
