Honestly, judges like this, especially in California, are used to cases dumber than this. The amount of sheboons and assorted faggotry that walks through those doors probably make the Ralphamale's saga more of a spat.
Family court is where they start out newfag judges. So you're either dealing with newfags, people so incompetent they never graduate out of the minor leagues, or people sadistic enough to actually enjoy it. Or I suppose the few good judges who for whatever reason want to do that, which is to say unicorn judges.
I have a few people in my family who did juror duty (in Europe) and most of the cases were rape or sexual abuse of children. One of my uncle was so traumatized that he said that he would never accept to do it again and would pay the fines instead.
