Democrats aren't even fucking trying anymore

http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-brief...s-try-new-slogan-have-you-seen-the-other-guys

The campaign arm for House Democrats on Wednesday tried out a new slogan: “I mean, have you seen the other guys?”

The sticker slogan, one of several floated as part of a fundraising effort by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), caused a stir on social media, where many wondered why the party would try out such a self-deprecating campaign line.

“Not exactly the most inspiring slogan, @dccc,” wrote ProPublica reporter Derek Willis.

“Dems are asking people to vote on a new sticker and I’m not sure anyone in history has been as bad as this,” tweeted Adam Serwer, a senior editor for The Atlantic.

Another sticker slogan referenced Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-Mass.) opposition to Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s confirmation in “She persisted, we resisted.”

“Make Congress blue again,” urged another.

The campaign arm for House Republicans later mocked the DCCC for its sticker.

Yes, this is real.

Big corporate sponsors love SJW shit and the Democrats would be fools to piss off their sponsors. Its all very safe for the bottom line, just look at shit with rainbows on it fly off the shelf during pride week.

Big corporate sponsors want people who can vote laws written by their lawyers into law. Democrats aren't worth shit if they can't do that, and they can't right now.

"Have You Seen The Other Guys?"

Yeah. I also read that the slogan has 'Guy' in it, does that seem like an upsetting oversight, fellow DNC?

Half those slogans seem to suggest they're gonna have Hilary run again in 2020.

Which means they've learned nothing.

We know they've learned nothing already--Hillary wasn't run out of town on a rail by them after dragging the entire ticket down.

All this is is more confirmation of how incompetent the Democrats are--though I would agree with what others have said. The Democrats are perfectly happy with getting asspats just for being around--they'd rather not have to do anything.

Trump had Hillary pegged when he pointed out that Democrats only go to poor neighborhoods every four years for votes. Once the Democrats have them, they leave. That is why breaking that complacency was important.

As far as their wit goes, remember: the DNC strategists were so confident Hillary would win in Michigan that they decided to "fake [Trump] out" by not campaigning there. (The idea being to presumably get Trump to waste resources and time on an unwinnable Michigan.)

Comically, Hillary's electoral college idea also backfired too. She lost more to faithless electors than Trump.

They also made the mistake of thinking no black, Latino, or LGBTs would vote for Trump. I remember seeing on election night on CNN that one woman believed that the headlines the day after would read "Latinos Elect Clinton." Then Trump got 1/3 of the Latino vote.

The Dems had themselves as "the party of the minority" only for even that to slip away. I'd be interesting to see what happens after they double down and Trump can possibly fix inner cities and the economy and do more for them than Dems ever had.

All Trump has to do is choke the Democrats of clout for long enough to finish them. As it is they are already beaten to a pulp.

DNC: "So you think we're not even fucking trying anymore? Hold my Rosé"

Hillary Clinton looks for her role in midterms

Hillary Clinton wants to play a role in next year’s midterm elections. It’s just not clear yet what that role will be.

Clinton has already launched a PAC aimed at helping congressional Democratic candidates in 2018, signaling the former first lady, senator and secretary of State is ready to help her party with fundraising.

She also is looking at the House districts she won in last year’s presidential contest against Donald Trump as part of an autopsy of her failed campaign, according to two sources who have spoken to the former Secretary of State.

It’s at least possible she’ll lend a hand on the campaign trail — particularly in the 23 districts held by Republicans where voters preferred her over Donald Trump for the White House.

“She's very well aware of how she performed in those districts,” said one longtime Clinton confidant who has spoken to the former Democratic nominee.

“She knows she won Darrell Issa's district by 8,” the confidant said, referring to the California Republican who is a top Democratic target. “She knows she came close in about a handful of others. She has studied this stuff thoroughly.”

Democrats are focused on the Golden State as they seek to win back the House majority.

Ellen Tauscher —a Clinton ally and former California congresswoman— along with a longtime aide Katie Merrill, have started a super PAC focused on seven of the so-called “split districts” in that state that voted for Clinton but backed a Republican candidate for the House.

Democrats are still mapping out a game plan for 2018 along with a message for their rudderless party. But another Clinton confidant said part of the plan might be to have Clinton campaign for candidates in the places where she won.

“No one can argue that Clinton helping in those areas wouldn't be helpful,” the confidant said. “That is a priority for her.”

just add megathread to the title i have a feeling like we wont fucking be done with this one for a long time

If they try to force that cunt down our throats again, I think the base will outright revolt. It will also drag down even more Democrats, and you could easily see a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate in 2018.

It's objectively proven she is the worst Presidential candidate in history, as she lost pathetically to the second worst.

Whenever I think about how democrats held the presidency for nearly a decade, as well as the public discourse, only to fall straight to the bottom in a single election year and start digging, I can't help but laugh.

It's pretty standard for any party that holds all three branches for any length of time to get complacent and start talking nonsense about a "permanent majority."

I think divided government generally gets better policy outcomes, like when Ronald Reagan and Tip O'Neill could have their difference but get shit done. Even Clinton being impeached could cooperate in a bipartisan manner to keep the economy on track.

This current situation where whoever is out of power does nothing but shit their pants in rage for years on end has to fucking stop.
