So on Arch's latest RE2 Remake stream he talked about Dev. Did defend him, but I find the content of that defense interesting.

1: He claims he has never seen Dev outright lie.
2: He claims the difference between Dev and 'wokist' is Dev inherently actually believes his bullshit (and Arch did rather quietly make it clear he did not agree)
3: Claims dev has a tendency to dig in against reason just to win.

This does not sound like a man who actually believes Dev or who would join in with Dev to mock people who mock Dev. This also tracks, Arch has made it very clear he avoids twitter spats like they were actual plague and so likely has not been exposed to Dev's blatant lying. It does make the Scrump video more possibly volatile for Dev because if there is any evidence in there of Dev lying directly to Arch it would really break the entire premise and foundation of Arch's vocalized defense.


Oh, also he believes Dev has not backstabbed anyone and instead was the one backstabbed. Which just reads to me as him having way too much belief in Dev's goodwill. More or less their whole relationship sounds like its based on Dev gaslighting Arch about his past and Arch never being given a really good reason to look past Dev's bullshit. This explains why Dev is so touting how Arch supposedly mocks people with him, Dev has to realize just how fragile their friendship is.

First there's no "evidence or good reasoning" he's questioning the narrative that Comperatore tried to protect his family.
Second the official narrative is apples to oranges with the two stories. The Official Narrative on George Floyd was provably false, sent four innocent men to prison, caused violent riots, and sunk racial division to new lows. The Official Narrative on Comperatore, even if you disbelieve it, made his family love him more, and is a plea to tone down hyperbolic violent rhetoric from the Left. The only reason Dev is picking at that story is because he thinks it might look bad for his political sports team, and also he doesn't like being confronted with the fact that he and his team have fed into a political climate that is causing physical harm to innocent families. He engages in the same type of rhetoric that brainwashed Crooks, and if calling this man's family liars and lessening the man's bravery will make him feel better he'll do it to soothe himself.
Even better if by doing this he can build his own narrative to further comfort and gratify his ego. He's arrogantly trying to position himself as the brave truth teller who will tread uncomfortable paths no matter where they lead, the light in the darkness, the Galileo of this story, the Adult in the Room looking for civility and rational discussion.

It's the latter. I think the first time a few of us really noticed it was during the Keffals incident, some of us noticing earlier, some of us noticing later, but the reason that incident stands out was one particular thing he said during his lone video covering the Keffals incident, and it effectively boiled down to an accusation that the Farms regularly and knowingly put out incorrect information, which anyone even remotely familiar with this site would tell you is outright bullshit.

It's not uncommon for specific narrative segments to have their own kind of meme-tier staying power despite being inaccurate or embellished, or specific things that aren't right getting repeated by our dumber users, but what makes the Farms effective and pretty much always has is its accuracy. That accuracy is what makes us that-which-must-never-be-named amongst specific communities, despite the fact that this site is objectively gentler in that regard than almost any other community that covers lolcowdom. It's also a big reason we have such a broad reach, with people here from literally every ideology and demographic on the fucking internet. Dev making the claim that the site only publishes lies is an intentional obfuscation done to save face. It's far from the only one he made in that video, hoping that his audience never looks at his own fucking thread.

Also, he blamed us for Chloe Sagal. You know, ignoring the fucking suicide note she left about how she offed herself due to the accepting and welcoming nature of the trans community who treated her like dogshit, something likewise called out by Rani. None of them gave a damn about her until she burned herself alive and could exploit her death for clout.
