Diablo 4 general - All shit will hit the fan this June

i havent actually got in yet, queueing, but i can tell it's bloated and runs like shit already lol

my computer is not a potato and it's only about a year and a half old (so yeah i guess these days that does make it a potato technically in the gaming sektur), i take care of it, it runs shit like elden ring fine, the resource load difference between running a game like elden ring and diablo 4 is very noticeable

You can mitigate the huge ass memory leak it has by setting your graphics to medium.

cutscenes are jerky but otherwise game runs fine on medium for me now

gameplay... this is like no different from grim dawn. very slightly different from diablo 2 style, some diablo 3 elements to combat. which should be left in diablo 3 lol.

if you like diablo 2 you'll like this, which was the point i guess? dunno if it's worth 80 bucks tho

also SO MANY FUCKING CUTSCENES

this is beyond metal gear solid frequency of cutscenes lol wtf

Playing the Xbox open beta - 76 gb install. Really nibba fucking really. Blizzard will complain about their beta having low numbers well don't make the install fucking 76gb or release it on the weekend of RE4 remake. Btw a release date that has not altered since release so they had ample time to think of an alternate weekend.

I played honestly for 15 mins it's "pretty" but it's not stunning considering the dev time. I can tell from even playing the console version it feels bloated because you can tell when games are worth their install space. I think Elden Ring was 80gb on release or even Shadow of War was 64gb.

I played Necro - my mistake because that was boring as fuck and whoever decided to let you have 4 undead from the get go is fucking retarded. Even on hard, they faceroll through everything. Uninspired design and at level 5 hated where it felt like it was going.

The UI is vile and again feels like a retard designed it. Just like the skill tree.

This is just the console version which feels like shit and I would maybe torrent it one day but the sheer gaul to charge £82.99 is just outright robbery.

I know the D3 console versions were horrid but this game feels like no thought went into it for the console release. I know having optimism for a Blizzard game in 2023 is non-existent but even in the brief time I played, the game feels outdated and soulless. This is not going to go down how Blizzard thinks it will go down after really lackluster internal beta feedback that was not listened to. A lot of testers said the game needs at least another year with testers concerned about end-game content and replayability.

The open beta finally let me in after however long.

The cut scene CGI is far outstripping their storytelling ability.

the in game cutscenes with you are noticeably lower quality but fine

The bosses difficulty is out of scale with normal mobs but I maybe outleveled somewhat.

Side quests are OK but it feels kinda wow/guided

Story sofar is basic bitch rehashing of the previous

They use the same sound effects as before to really rustle your nostalgia

Decent game for $30

Wait what, $80? Yeah nope.

My review:

The weapon swap "mechanic" is RETARDED

They kept the most RETARDED parts of D3 combat

Otherwise combat is just like D2 or Grim Dawn. Generic hack and slash ARPG combat. Which is fine

Frozen orb looks like SHIT. D2 frozen orb, not D2 Resurrected graphics, the original graphics from 22 years ago looks better. wtf lol

Fallen look RETARDED. D2 Fallen sprites look better

Atmosphere is meh

Music is okay

Characters are thin and not interesting. Story is thin and not interesting

Skill tree system is okay I guess. Not interesting

Crafting and upgrading is basic bitch simplistic as can be

Side quests are thin basic bitch boring shit

So many things are taken from diablo 3, the shittest shit game ever. Why? Thought this game was supposed to redeem diablo after the shitshow that was 3

This game is not worth 80 dollars, or whatever the bloated price is in your market. Play diablo 2 instead

How the hell do you swap weapons? I’m a Barbadian and skills say “if two handed coolshit” but I just keep double wielding one handlers except for one skill which is like “use two handed hammer”

Rogue and Necro to 20, but uninstall before I'm hooked too deep. Something incredibly moreish about the game, and I found the abilities really satisfying.

This will be a long eight weeks.

Rogue has been quite good finsihed up the entirely they allowed us to play and even cleared up some of the additioanl achivement content.

People keep bringing up Grim Dawn. Is it reccomended if you enjoy the diablo series? And does it require a bunch of expansions to be bought?

Well, Grim Dawn is more of a evolution of Titans Quest ( it's from the same developers) but yeah, its pretty good. Its a bit different through in how the class/skills works.

Basically you mix and match two classes while adding additional skills from relics you craft and attach to weapons/armor. You kind of only have one left click attack per class and the only way to unlock skills is to "invest" points into a class. This raises your attributes but you can't repec out of class mastery points (Unless you use a third party utility). There is also a PoE isk constellation system that unlocks some additional passive along with some overpowered skills. All in all its a pretty fun game even without the expansions.
