Did any of you use to be left wing, and became right wing later on?

Was pretty left wing up until my early/mid 20s when I could no longer excuse or justify how batshit crazy the left had become (and has only gotten worse since then)

These days my personal views tend to be somewhere in between libertarian and right of center.

I used to be left wing as a kid, but still called people nigger on the internet from about age 9 onwards, so I guess that was never destined to last. Became very right wing (edgy neo-nazi stuff like Romper Stomper, American History X style) until I was about 19 then have mellowed out a bit. Still edgy from time to time, but I'm more focused on my business and enjoying my life now.

I was far to the left until 2012 when Saint Baby TrayTray the Next Neil Armstrong got Zimmer’d and the narrative was all about how saintly niggers are and how all wypipo were guilty of original sin. I became politically inactive until Trump’s 2016 campaign where I volunteered. Never was a Republican and certainly not one now as they try to revive neoconservatism while skinsuiting as populists. So I’m back to being politically inactive. At least the meme wars of 2015-2016 were pretty fun, that was a once in a lifetime event.

What’s weird though is watching friends who were apolitical when we were young go full lefty retard now.
Yeah that is kind of bizarre. Where were these people ~20 years ago when shit was real? At home grilling and loving pro wrestling and now somehow they're paragons of fucking virtue. I feel like these little bitches just want to ride the current bandwagon, they don't really care about anyone or anything except being part of the winning team.

Kinda. I was a grade-school socialist and fairly progressive.

I wouldn't call my self conservative, but I think far more problems would be solved by "Get a job, motherfucker" than by Current Year Progressive Solution than I did previously.

I lurched back and forth because I was young, and young people only deal in political extremes when they care. Now it's a slow wobble depending on the issue instead of what month it is.

Apolitical but mostly left-leaning in my youth. Went through a libertarian phase, before coming to the realization that libertarians don't generally know what they're talking about on just about any topic - it was a slow process, just realizing that on subject after subject the world was a lot more complex and messy than I had been led to believe. Generally conservative now, but leftists are right about some things. The problem with the left isn't necessarily their ideas - as a political force the left has become the weird religion of upper middle class spoiled brats, and so it's of no use to anyone for anything on a practical level. I remember when the Sierra Club and Bernie Sanders were once hardline opponents of immigration. It's all bought out by big money now, and anyone who actually cares about any of those issues is long gone. Meanwhile I feel like the right is slowly shaking off some of its most retarded elements - the wholesale worship of capitalism, the refusal to ever wield state power for their own benefit, the appeasement towards people who hate them, the fetishization of immigrants. The foreign adventurism in service of gauzy 'ideals' instead of hard, self-interested calculation.

One friend I excuse as he’s probably doing it to sound more interesting to girls on Tinder and it’s easier for him to blame the Tories for his marriage collapsing than himself.

Background/TMI.

My parents are pretty big liberals. As a teenager in high school I wanted to be involved in politics and was a staunch democratic socialist as well as an atheist. I volunteered for a local democratic congressman’s campaign doing phone banking and canvassing.

At first I really loved it since most everyone agreed with my political views and seemed to enjoy having a young person around. However, after about a month of going into this place and working with democrats, I started to notice how insane everyone was. Like, these people were CRAZY. This was before the LGBTQ gay shit started becoming popular but it was still present. There was a tranny that got hired as a supervisor and he made his entire existence revolve around being a gross fetishist.

I started seeing holes in the leftist mindset and after about 3 months I left the campaign and stopped answering their calls. All of the shit they were doing to contact voters seemed predatory and they encouraged you to lie about the candidate to make him look better.

After that experience I started browsing 4chan and fell into the redpill rabbit hole. It confirmed all the shit about Jews that I was noticing while in this campaign (Jews literally were in all the positions of power at this campaign office lol). I’ve never been a “Nazi” or national socialist but I lean heavily right.

About 2 years ago I found Jesus and completely distanced myself further from mainstream politics.

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but you’ll be astounded if you google what religion Jesus was.

If you're not left-wing at 20, you have no heart.
If you're not right-wing at 30, you have no brain.
If you're not right-wing at 25, you have no brain.
and my favorite addition
If you're still under the belief that both parties aren't the same people by 30, you're clinically retarded.
Seriously it's not even a left/right plurality in the United States anymore. It's the same people, they speak about different things and pretend to hate each other. However, when it comes down to the ground truth, it's not about liberalism vs. conservatism. It's really about the political and donor class vs. everybody else strung along for the ride.

Muh abortion rights
Bullshit, it would have happened no matter what. Democratic leaders had decades to codify it into law and didn't. The Supreme Court would have taken a more conservative slant regardless of who sits in the oval office. It was politically useful to pander to both the progressives and evangelical/religious voting bloc but it was losing steam. Allowing Roe to fall actually helped their case, everyone wins political points. I'm not going to argue for or against abortion, but the strategy of allowing Roe to be overturned was worth noting.

Muh social welfare
Remember that time when we let the money jews do all of the things that caused the great depression and allowed the banks to become overleveraged on bad mortgage debt? Remember how the Federal government came to the rescue, bailed out all of those bad mortgages, people weren't evicted for being retarded, the protections were put back in place, and said money jews went to federal prison for life and/or were forced to pay restitution equal to the amount of damage they caused? Huh, me neither.

Muh stop the spread, social distancing, fight COVID at all costs
Wow, oppressive censorship is suddenly okay now. We have to keep those pesky citizens from thinking the right of free expression also applies to the internet. The bill of rights was written before the internet or telephones existed! The founding fathers didn't want people to have uncontrolled weapons of communication and expression! If they could see what's happening today, they would have set up a special ministry to decide what is truthful and what isn't!
See where I'm going with this...
Also, I guess we'll bail out all of the businesses we just doomed to failure. I guess we'll throw the peasants $2,000 or whatever too. That'll be enough to buy groceries and pay bills for a year, right? Said some crotchety old fuck in congress, who hasn't worked a day doing anything useful since the Nixon administration, if ever. We'll be happy to buy your house back when you ultimately foreclose on it. We've got some friends that want to turn your house into a rental property. They also wear tiny hats, no idea what the tiny hats are for.

I could go on, but yes, I was more left-leaning in my early adult life. Then shifted once I realized unchecked progressivism is destabilizing to society and needs to be regulated with objective criticism. All the way up until I realized that America as previous generations knew it was effectively dead. We're just persisting on past glory and economic successes of the previous century. Once the uniparty and their masters have pilfered the last of the state coffers and extracted anything valuable from the people and taken all of the natural resources, they'll leave it to rot and the United States will collapse, just like the USSR 30+ years ago.

It's a dark take on American politics, but I honestly think it needs to happen and whatever comes afterward will hopefully be better for everyone.
Or it won't, but it won't matter. Just be sure that you can look out for yourself and don't worry about the future.

Normies gonna normie. Doing the same shit they do to every cultural aspect/hobby.

In my regard had a right leaning background, but always knew both sides weren't honest or were in cahoots to some degree an understanding of kabuki theater.

during mid 2000's met a few leftist and realized how bat shit insane they were and spent years trying to warn the right and anyone else who would listen.

For a period I became "news controlled" from the brainwashing but the constant contradictions and oddities such as a rock being thrown at a news reporter on MSNBC didn't make sense when they said "It's ok they thought we were cops." and more. Came to the conclusion of white genocide/my other takes after a full year of personal political history research, and now people either think I'm right wing, a Nazi, or not sure what to make of my political composition based on certain aspects of my belief systems, either way I'm a party of one and not affiliated with any official political parties or sides.

From probably '12 to '16 I watched, and was casual friends with, quite a few people on the left. I was graduating high school during the recession of '08, so I saw all the "occupy wall street" protests. So, technically, I would have considered myself on the left. Always viewed political alignment with concrete parts of average daily life, i.e. financial sector.
During Obama's second term, it became very much about Identity politics and equality, and being a bit of a softie, I was empathetic. Sure, people deserve a living wage. Yeah, black people are put at risk during law enforcement interactions. Antisemitism is a problem, most definitely. The day after Trump was elected, every woman that came into my store was absolutely boo-hooing like their child has just died. Sunken eyes, tear stained faces. Putting their hand on mine, "Isn't it just awful? We almost had one of us- We almost had a woman in office! But now we're doomed, doomed, doomed..." That was the turning point.
Nowadays, if I had to choose, I would consider myself on the conservative side of things.

But politics are for niggers, faggots, kikes, and retards. So really, I just pick the opposite side of whoever I'm fucking with at the moment.

I'm guilty as charged. Worse yet, I was one of those stereotypical bitter nerds who saw leftism as a way to topple a status quo I hated. To some degree, I did want the world to be a better place and to be on the so-called "right side of history," but I also wanted revenge on a system that felt like it was stifling and harming me. In retrospect, and not surprising, I was a huge hypocrite. I believed in white guilt, claimed to be a male feminist, wanted hate speech laws, and supported many of the cringey awful things we openly, and rightfully, mock on this website.

What snapped me out of it? Many things. I'm embarrassed to admit that I also used to be a Green Party member. Their constant failures, incompetence, and hypocrisy was disillusioning. Same with the Democratic Party who I was a fair-weather supporter of. Witnessing these two liberal parties and their activist allies fail all the time slowly but surely broke me. Also along the way, witnessing everything that's wrong with women and minorities made me question why I was doing anything on their behalf. Especially knowing that no matter what I did, I was still the bad guy just because I'm a white man. Then their activist allies started infiltrating and destroying my hobbies and interests. That made it worse!

As I got older, I realized that not only was I wrong, but the left-liberal dogma and every person and group associated with it was wrong too. They weren't making society better. Hell, they weren't making people better. Everything was either stagnating or getting worse or both. Things I hated ended up either not as bad as I thought they were or not bad at all. I let my resentment get the best of me and cloud my judgement. I also realized I need to improve myself before I lecture others about being better. Actually, I realized that none of my left-liberal politics and activism EVER made me happy. While my life is far from perfect, it's a lot better now that I've long since abandoned my left-liberal dogmatism and wasteful activism.

These days I'm rightwing. There are a few certain things which I disagree with the right on. I'm weary of blindly supporting the right the same way I did the left. Nonetheless, being rightwing makes more sense than any of the leftism I wasted my life on in the past.

I was born into a liberal family in a solid blue state so I was fairly liberal from my teens to early twenties. I started questioning things after seeing a picture of what Trayvon Martin looked like at the time of his confrontation with Zimmerman. All the (((media))) would show was a picture of him from the 5th grade or something. Then I saw a contemporary photo of him holding a gun and showing off his gold grill. Within a few months, I was a White identarian and haven't looked back.

This is not to say I like American conservatives. To the contrary, I probably hate them more than liberals. If you are like Lauren Hoebert and think that "God has blessed only 2 countries: the United States and Israel" you should be put in a room with padded walls for the rest of your life.

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but you’ll be astounded if you google what religion Jesus was.
Jesus was neither Jewish nor a Jew.
In fact, Jews are not God’s chosen people, Israelites are
Big difference. Modern Jews showed up after Christ’s death and they descended from the Pharisees and Babylonians.
