Does he definitely not have a schizophrenia spectrum disorder, or is this being caused by weed? Weed doesn't do this to people with healthy brains and Chris isn't Tommy Chong.
I think he's just happy as a pig in shit that people are giving him lots of attention, that isn't primarily hostile, and doesn't have much investment in these delusions beyond that end.
Ultimately I don't know.
But here's what I think:
Chris is not hallucinating. He's not hearing voices or seeing things. I'm reasonably confident about that.
I don't believe he's schizophrenic either. Schizos have some pretty serious mental disturbances and simply aren't capable of distinguishing reality from fiction. I believe Chris is capable of it, he just doesn't want to.
The thing is, Chris never really saw the value in reality. He never got what the big deal was. He's always been able to say whatever the fuck he wants to, and it's rare that he hits a brick wall where he's forced to acknowledge it.
I know that's kind of vague, but here's an example: when Chris tried to do a pull up. He was so fucking cocky and then bam, he was forced to face reality. To a lesser (but only slightly) extent, finances and bills put hard limits on him that he can't dodge. He's salty that he has to pay bills, but he knows that they won't give him cheeseburgers at mcdonalds if he doesn't pay them. He knows he has to extend that concept to other things in his life.
Despite what it superficially seems like, Chris does react to stimuli and change his behavior appropriately. If Chris suffers a punishment (and he can't figure out how to dodge it) he gets really salty and pissy, but ultimately he changes his behavior.
The reason Chris is in the situation that he is now is because he hasn't suffered any consequences. He can just ramble about his imaginary world, 24/7, to anyone who'll listen, and the worst that happens is people will insult him.
Now the thing is, Chris really wants his magical world to be real. He's trying to levitate paper with his mind and stupid shit like that. He's just staring at paper, willing it to move, and if there's a little gust of wind, he gets excited because he thinks he's making progress.
Now, all of this is just how Chris is right now. Chris could get crazier as time goes on. I don't know. And again, I'm not a doctor. (Furthermore, Chris hides shit from people because he knows they'll call his shithead "friends" trolls. So it's hard to tell what's really going on.)
