On the Walt Disney animation front, it's basically just sequelitis with them talking about Frozen three with a potential Frozen four.
Disney is so creatively bankrupt. Everything about them is make sequels under the impressions it's retarded audience would consoom it so they can ride it to the bank. And even when they try to do something original they don't come up with anything unique.

I'm not really sure what to take away from the conference because based on what I'm hearing the Frozen stuff isn't being all that well received.

You know something's off when mufasa having Miranda is getting people more excited than what was essentially their highest grossing film until recently

So if I'm reading the coverage correctly, Disney has exactly one (1) original movie in production, the Pixar beaver thing which isn't coming out for at least two years. Quite literally everything else is a sequel, a prequel, cinematic universe shit, or a remake.

Nothing new that we've learned for the Avatar sequel though I think the subtitle "Fire & Ash" manages to be both weird and boring at the same time.

I wish I could be optimistic for Zootopia 2, but the first movie was one of John Lasseter's final projects at the company and his departure marked a sharp dropoff in quality in their animated films. I expect the current crop of midwit producers to completely misunderstand what made the first film so subversive and funny and workshop it to death.

I wish Tim Allen had told them off with TS5, that movie does NOT need to be made. They screwed him more or less on Lightyear.

It's so sad what happened to Pixar. That they haven't fired Iger or Kennedy truly means nobody gives a crap about the financials. And I'll still never understand how Avatar comes out once a decade and each time is biggest movie in history for a week and then forgotten totally.

They have no streaming options, all of the shows are terrible. I doubt they'll even do a season 2 of Andor, which I wouldn't watch since I skipped the first one. Infinity War is the last Disney movie period I really liked very much.

They have nothing new recently in the parks department or planned really. The Epcot upgrade is a total waste. All the interesting parts of Epcot are gutted for IPs and so on. I've never been much of a theme park person really but Epic Universe looks so promising. They threw away all their goodwill on Lucasfilm crap and terrible Marvel shows.

Leslye Headland has to be rolling in the money cause all that $180m sure vaporized. I gave up on Star Wars after Obi-Wan and now won't watch anything for free.

I just happened to check their stock in the first time in months and expected it to be around $100 still. Freaking mid-$80s now and I don't see how one or 2 decent return movies a year can sustain that beast that has everything else losing hundreds of millions. All their IP games are trash, are they even still doing that tranny-made Indiana Jones game they went on about before the last movie?

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is scheduled for release in 2024 for Windows and as a console exclusive for Xbox Series X/S, and will be available from launch on Xbox Game Pass.[33][31] The initial contract between Bethesda and Lucasfilm parent company Disney stipulated that the game be launched on multiple consoles, including PlayStation 5. These terms were amended when Microsoft acquired ZeniMax Media in March 2021, thereby receiving ownership of Bethesda Softworks and MachineGames.[34][35] Disney felt that Windows and Xbox made up a large-enough marketplace to justify exclusivity.[36]
Oh yeah, that's not gonna completely bomb like this last Star Wars one I'm sure. It's August and they don't even have a release date other than '2024'.

Disney is like a beloved eldar that has dementia and is being abused by his grandkids, and you feel sorry for him and hate what the kids are doing to him, and will feel immense relief when he passes and is no longer being abused.

Here's the Tron Ares trailer leaked. (for some reason no audio sorry)

As an avid Tron fan, I think the premise is so cheap with the computer stuff coming into the real world, very unoriginal.

Oh no, I didn't know Jared Leto was in it. Pass. Tron's always been a better concept than something to actually really watch, like Matrix 2 and 3. Matrix 4 was horrible in every way.

@Betonhaus That was my exact reaction, that Genesys one.

Expect a lot of Tron memes. At least "It's morbin time" was relevant for a while.

Love how their more recent films like Luca, Lightyear, Elemental, Turning Red and Strange World aren't getting sequels because even Disney themselves know that those movies were garbage and nobody watched them except retarded manchildren.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head.

Only a couple of the projects and now it's really generated a whole bunch of buzz.

Moana 2 has way too much going on from what I've heard and I think would have been better off left as a TV series given just how much a crams into a film

Pixar is all over the place and the fact that they lay off a bunch of their best guys fight making billions doesn't really insure any faith in their company.

That Beaver movie is actually being done by the creator of the cartoon Network series We Bare Bears which is known for how much heart it has so that's sort of promising.

Mufasa could be interesting but I don't know if they're talented enough to really pull off the story they're trying to tell because of how much it sort of messes with the lore (; which if you take into regard lion guard is already pretty wonky).

The music actually being good to me makes it very bitter sweet because now I'm focusing on the story and what could possibly go wrong.

Out of everything here I think only zootopia 2 and perhaps mufasa have the ability to really go the distance from a box grossing standpoint but it really makes you wonder if you really want them to succeed given that they're just going to end up making even more sequels if they do

If they'd released Turning Red, Soul etc. in cinemas to begin with I doubt we'd be in this sequel deluge right now. Streaming services should be for TV shows, not feature films.

My understanding was he said Hollywood needs more dwarf actors, so it caused the execs to lose their shit and hastily poorly CGI the shit out of them.
He changed his story to be that he was specifically against the dwarfs even existing when he got backlash.

There are entire casting agencies for dwarfs there would have been no issue casting them.

Zach Roloff who has been shown on screen since he was a child on TLC and such did a video about it.

This gave me a migraine from the visuals and her wailing in about 10 seconds. wtf are they doing.
