Anyone else noticed every so called Asian film at the Oscar’s a big fuck you to asian culture and traditional Asian families? Is this suppose to appeal to Asians the same way Hollywood shilling the term latinx to appeal to Latinos?

Hollywood doesn't know Asia isn't one big monoculture. They talk all about being inclusive, authentic and representative. Yet they consider all Asian backgrounds and cultures, one and the same and therefor interchangable.

Making Shang-Chi, a film about Chinese stuff. Got to be authentic with an Asian director. Can't have a white guy. So they get a Japanese American from Hawaii. These types of fake virtye signally representation and hiring happens constantly in Hollywood.

They keep casting that Korean American guy as Japanese characters. It's all interchangeable because they just superficially view all this stuff.

To appeal to the Chinese market with Star Wars they include an Asian character. So they get a chubby Vietnamese chick, which isn't appealing to the Chinese audience. The very notion of putting an angelic attractive Chinese lady in a film is apparently wrong. Which shows you how they think of Asian people. It's telling how often padded out casts with minorities are often cast with ugly and fat actors/actresses.

So back to your point being a fuck you to Asian culture. If there's any "authentic" writing behind the scenes. It's probably Asian Americans of a second or third generation who hate their Asian culture. Anything else would be seen as conservative, which Hollywood would not like. They can paint other cultures as backwards, but they can't have anything that embraces them.

I once listened to an interview with writers in Hollywood and an Asian American writer was talking about how bullshit it all was. They no longer cared if she was right for a project. It was all about filling the box as a token Asian on a project. People would tell her they want authentic voices when offering the jobs that she had no authenticity on. Like here's a project about Japan. Yet her ancestry was from somewhere else in China. They didn't care. It was all fake pretence of representation. They want an Asian character on a show. They'll need an Asian writer, even if they literally can add nothing to that character.

yeah, it's sorta like "hispanic"
yes they can all shop in the same aisle at the grocery store but that doesn't mean they're the same

Bit of old news but if anyone remembers there was gonna be a Mary Poppins attraction at epcot but was cancelled because in chapeks own words it was too capital intensive back in the 2022 shareholder meeting

And it was just an indoor teacup ride, no fancy animatronics or unique set designs just a reskin of a ride they already have in the park, and it wasn't even themed to the original but the 2018 sequel

I'm starting to see way fans of the park specifically hated him, though how much of this was actually Igers idea is up for debate since Chapek was only CEO in name only.

I miss traditional animation
Yes I'm talking about the og sketches for the snow queen in particular her with the ermine cape and fur hat and long dark hair

Not Disney, but they had a Chinese woman play the main character in Memoirs of a Geisha. It's pretty fucked.

Are we sure Disney didn't hire the male Rachel Dolzeal to direct X-men 97? This has to be the whitest looking black man I have seen.
He's more black than transnigger Rachel, at the very least (his nose, for instance). Many blacks in America aren't 100% black anymore, so there's inevitably going to be some lighter skin among them. Also depends on where they were raised, though interestingly enough, I knew more dark black people who were raised/taught more like white people than as black, and while they may know the linguo and shieet, they don't live it. 'Cause that's what normal people do.

It's always a Eurotrash looking faggot always complaining or inserting sodomy. It's not a simple story of the balance of humanity, robotics and protecting the world, its about faggotry.
These sodomites can fuck themselves.
I saw the vid on my recommended and decided to watch like 5 mins of it and read some comments. I believe I lost braincells doing so. 5 mins in, and I still have no idea how Wall-E represents gays. He has this on-going skit of him tutoring three versions of himself and them going on random tangents like how Wall-E is pro-Communism, because of course it is. The only thing I can gather from the vid and comments was that it portrays heterosexuals and this is bad because we cannot assume robot genders. Really, that is it, that is worth a 20 min video.

Considering how fast Disney fired Justin Roiland and Johnny Depp. Will Disney do the same for Jonathan Major? Kang is supposed to be the new Thanos and savior of the savior of the MCU.
