But the issue it was a close term decision, those cat women will die or be enticed by another thing while the new generation will watch anime that actually caters to them.

If you've been watching, the Western companies are now trying to invest into the Asian media that people have fled the West to. Most notably Netflix.

I’m late on this, but apparently we have an Investor Lawsuit - surprise sur-fucking-prise, it seems to centre around Disney+ and how Disney is “knowingly deceiving Investors about the financial health of the service”.

Disney+ is going to be the fucking albatross that drags down Iger, isn’t it.

Disney has pulled their owned channels from Spectrum. Anyone else think they were trying to increase the prices because their stocks have been going down?

Marvel Cinematic Universe titles What If...? Season 2, Echo, Ironheart, Daredevil: Born Again, X-Men '97 and Agatha: Darkhold Diaries (fka Coven of Chaos) have all received new release dates/windows. The changes come amid the ongoing Hollywood strikes, as well as Marvel's desire to spread out its releases to make each one its own event. The calendar shuffle does not affect Loki Season 2, which is still slated to premiere on Disney+ on Oct. 6.
more change because of the strike
Ironheart, a show focused on genius-inventor Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) first introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, was to have dropped this fall but that is now off the schedule. It finished shooting but its completion is affected by the strikes.
Only one people knew was too soon was not in production or made.

I know it was a hoax, but I would love for Disney to cast Zendaya as Moana after seeing the Disney fandom rationalize why Ariel could be a negress. The light skinned/mixed native of Hawaii that they cast in Lilo & Stitch was accused of being a "white" woman because she's pale and not brown enough. But it's the norm to accuse someone of being a cracker if they're not dark and cause controversy. Even the Pajeet who played Jasmine, Naomi Scott, was accused of being "white" or "white-passing" because she's not dark-skinned.

Or better yet, cast one of those naturally blonde/blue-eyed Melanesians. I'm sure the diversity crowd would welcome a blonde Moana.

No. Disney is terminal. Disneys board really does believe in what they are doing and view their investment in Disney as one for a propaganda outlet. Not for returns on investment and to make money.

Iger isnt there to make money. He wont be removed for gradually lower stock prices.

I remember really loving The Aristocats when I was a kid. Like to the point that I remember being more happy that I got it on VHS for my birthday then a outdoor playset my dad spent like a month building for my brother and I lol.
1970s Disney: "Let's make a movie called The Aristocats!"
2020s Disney: "Let's make a movie called The Aristrocrats!"

What good is a propaganda outlet when fewer and fewer people are consuming its content? What's left of Disney's audience are woketards so they're preaching to the choir.

Disney still has an immense amount of power and influence over the industry as a whole. Its waning. But is almost all the players are waning. They own Espn, they own Abc, they can still pump propaganda like crazy and overwhelm you with it being the new normal.
I hope the board is happy with Disney bleeding money
They dont care. The Susan Arnold faction cared. They got ousted. There may be a few board members who are naive and think the dei stuff is good but they should still try to make money. But most of them view this as spending an expensive asset. Your asking people lighting something made out of wood on fire to care about the tinder they used. The fire and the smoke is what they want. If they care about the tinder its only insomuch that they get get more smoke and fire out of it while it burns. But burn it must.

If Disney "fails" other things they have interests in can just scoop up the pieces of the wreck at a discount. Most of Disney is owned by institutional investors. Yes some of them care about stock price, this is why Iger makes moves to placate them, but Blackrock doesnt care. If Disney sells off large parts of the company it will be bought by someone they have hooks in. Its just moving the actual assets (Like the parks) around on their books to them.

There is no saving Disney. Iger made his deal to oust Chapek. He wont the see light, he's there to extinguish the light. Even if there was a brand new board and ceo, the rank and file would poison and resist any attempts to change things and actively sabotage any reform efforts. The only remaining "leaders" would be quislings who went along after you purged middle and upper management. Or the true mercenaries, who you wont be able to pay with how much more money you will lose righting the ship. (Which reform enemies will point to as why they were right) Disney has always treated its rank and file like shit. But you may get revolts there too.

But there wont be a new board. Who would orchestrate the vote? Also dont forget instituional investors control the majority. Youd have to convince a couple of them to go against Blackrock. Stuff like the dividend bribe was to convince them not too.

The only people I see excited about Disney these days are those weird childless losers who TikTok their weekly trips to Disneyland where they spend $1000 on cheap food and plastic trash. I don’t know a single kid that’s interested in Disney, besides like Bluey but that doesn’t even count.

Kids still kinda like Star Wars and Marvel but find the more recent stuff of it boring. And little boys are not interested in the female centric content they are pushing. But those franchises are also terminal. Youd have to fire everyone at lucasfilm to make not diseased Star Wars.

Firing people wouldn’t save anything. Star Wars and Marvel are dead.

Star Wars and Marvel are dead.
Never forget Disney bought them explicitly for content to appeal to little boys only to turn them into giiiiiirl power-type stuff anyways to get girls and womenchildren onboard as said boys understandably abandon them in droves.... at the same time they mangle their Disney Princess brand for the sake of diversity and drive away the original lady fans in the process.

They're launching another new cruise ship, the Treasure, and I'm wondering who's left to be able to afford it

Their cruises are way more expensive than other family cruise lines, and their newest ship the Wish was full of Star Wars and Marvel shit that's actively losing cultural capital. Though looking at it this new ship seems more themed around what they have at theme park lands like Adventureland, Discoveryland, and EPCOT, and the new IP stuff is more mid-2010s films like Zootopia and Coco.

Pretty confirming what everyone already knows. Studios like Disney have been paying for good reviews for at least five years. This also explains why WB Ezra Miller flash gotten a rotten tomatoes score.
