A.) Zootopia is not pixar.

B.) Changing the anchor is a joke, not to avoid alienation. Nobody is going to be alienated by a leopard.
Could've sworn Pixar was the Disney studio, but I'm retarded so eh. As far as the alienation thing maybe it's better to say localize? Which is still weird to me and reminds me of the goofy localization stuff they'd do with Pokemon (or really this comic).

Disney Animation and Pixar were always separate studios.

Its a city of animals. They just changed what kind of animal the anchor is. You really think its on the same level as this?

I don't think they're re-enacting the comic, but I think they're doing stupid little changes in an attempt for mass appeal. To me this screams that they're striving for the blandest media possible that would appeal to anyone as at least basic cinema-slop.

Makes it seem to me they're more interested in trying to create a product rather than a piece of art that's meant to be accepted on its own.

Seems like a shame as it makes these movies feel more forgettable.

Its a cute little joke dude.

You're stretching harder than two jews fighting over a penny.

I guess some Disney supporters will dislike that rant from American Thinker who tells an inconvenient truth.

Disney, a new Florida child rape law, and the greatest LGBTQ+ self-own ever

By Andrea Widburg

Largely thanks to Ron DeSantis taking the lead in trying to keep sexually obsessed leftists away from children, Florida is rapidly becoming Ground Zero in the battle over children and sex. Disney’s GLAAD approval, a new rape law, and a very crazy tweet highlight this battle.
Regarding Disney, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) released its “2023 Studio Responsibility Index,” which “maps the quantity, quality and diversity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) characters in films released by ten major motion picture studios during the 2022 calendar year.”
According to a letter from GLAAD’s president, three studios won the coveted “good” rating. It probably won’t surprise you to learn that The Walt Disney Company earned one of those three accolades. Interestingly, just a decade ago, when it came to GLAAD’s accolades, Disney earned a “failing” grade because it had only one” LGBT-inclusive film,” and that film (Mishima: A Life in Four Chapters) wasn’t even released under the Disney name.

Indeed, over the past ten years, Disney generally got abysmal scores from GLAAD, meaning that it was not foisting sex on its young audience. That all changed in 2022. Suddenly, Walt Disney, Disney+, and Hulu had 24 entrants in the LGBTQ-inclusive entertainment category. Of those, seven came from Walt Disney Studios, which has always had children as its primary audience.
A24, one of the other “good” studios, released only five LGBTQ-inclusive films, while NBCUniversal, the other studio to take home the “good” rating, had only nine LGBTQ-inclusive films. In other words, Disney is churning out these movies at a rate about three to five times greater than other approved studios.

https://youtube.com/watch?v=oyRxxpD3yNwThis looks like an animation test before final rendering. Am I crazy? How are people praising this animation? It looks like shit.

Staring obviously evil white king so evil he can't even pretend otherwise, being taken out by the only black woman in the entire european kingdom sporting dreadlocks and a side buzz.

"100 years in the making."
I can see some decent art in some shots (mainly backgrounds), but then the annoying "sassy", fat, 3D characters ruin it.

Are they going to make a remake of Moana with whites too? Or doesn't work that way? (I know)
I actually liked The Princess and The Frog. Can we not get more of that instead?

This looks like a Netflix remake of Rapunzel. Aka - make it "diverse", add sassy black and asian girls/kids, and remove any sense of child wonderment and light-heartedness

Somehow it's really taking me out of the fantasy of this setting when I see people with dreadlocks wearing extremely European clothing in a kingdom with deliberately mediterranean looking architecture and medieval props - and I don't give a shit about the Redguard race in Skyrim. The main girl's token Asian friend looks and sounds like Edna Mode.

We got a new screenshot for Once Upon a Studio.
I got curious and finally searched what it was...

Does Disney not realise that pretty much no one watches a short? Could they not make an actual movie, "Into the spiderverse" style with the stile changing between the different Disney eras? Disney feel free to steal this idea

They did make the recent Chip N Dale movie which was pretty Pooh's Adventure tier. I don't think it even hit theaters though

I immediately searched it and wow
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3513500/?ref_=tt_mv_close that trailer is something. Not sure if I hate more the image of shirtless men 5 seconds in or the crappy rap song that starts in the second half .... just wow

I am so confused by what movie wants to be - for kids? nostalgia? certainly not a good movie that could stand by itself

I really hate what Disney movies have become.

1) Is making a good 2D movie that much more expensive than the shit 3D they keep using that now looks so similar across studios that it cannot even be easily identified who produced what? This is especially sad for Pixar that used to be ahead in terms of 3D until I would say very recently while now they are just... there.

2) Can we stop making "sassy character" the protagonist in every fucking movie for kids? I don't even care if the main character is a bipoc neurodivergent pooner. Just give her a fucking personality that is not "👏sassy 👏 girl 👏 you are 🔥🔥🔥 YAS QWEEN 💅 🔥"

I thought that was what Wish was going to be, until the first trailer dropped.
