Lol Tim. Brainstorm, is there any way to write this story in a way that doesn't make it seem like Andy is unhealthily attached to his childhood toys? I thought it was already borderline in TS3 where Andy's thinking of bringing Woody to college.

I feel like this is less a woke thing (although it probably is that to some degree) than it is a way to avoid having to fully render and animate long hair. It's easier to do when the hair is short and basically just a hat, or styled in a way where it's effectively a bunch of thick ropes on one side than individual long strands all over the head.
 
It be a pretty shitty regression that would feel forced and unnatural.
They should just let Toy Story die. You can't undo TS4. Shits only going to get worse the more you add to it.
 
I wouldn't mind a Toy Story 5 where Woody SOMEHOW winds up back with Andy, who then passes him down to his kid.

But let's be honest. Disney would never do anything good. Not now.

Is toy story 4 perceived as being that bad? The romantic in me really loved it.

I guess it really depends on how much you care about bo peep. I thought it was a good story and didn't really think too hard about Andys reaction after the fact.

If they legit have a good script and they really think they can do it cool. Id have andy already with a family and kids and then one day he sees Woody and bo somewhere and tries to buy em for his kids and go from there.

Some autist made a three-part (now put together into a convenient single video) review going over how much character assassination and retconning happened to justify the plot. For instance: Woody was absolutely willing to abandon his family and Andy to join Bo Peep in the box when she was being given away. That's in the prologue of the movie.
The TL;DR is the director (who had never directed a Pixar movie before) threw out about 75% of the original script once Lasseter was kicked out and sabotaged the film to destroy his legacy while claiming to have always been a huge fan. After he won the Oscar because the Academy is paid off by Disney, he fucked off from Pixar.

That's why fixing it with a sequel no one asked for is a herculean challenge. How the fuck do you make it convincing without being obvious you are trying to make the previous movie non-canon? I don't know if any fanfiction exists that was able to pull that off.

They all share similar traits, with off bone-structures or eye colors for their races, plastic poop-colored skin, the cotton candy hair, the piercings, tatts, and those same notched-braids of nappy hair you mentioned. The Deification of Dung from the entertainment media has been so blatant in recent years, they gotta bring everything down to the level of feces.
 
The reviews are starting to come in for Wish and are completely unsurprising given everything that's been shown off about it.

And the songs in Wish sound like the pop trash you hear on the radio, the villain's song sounds even worse than the protagonist's somehow.
