This will be one of the biggest disasters I will have the liberty of not watching.

the worst part about the Stitch remake is going "but its so soon its been.....oh no" every time i hear about it. On the off chance it releases this year it would only be 4 years sooner than the Aladdin remake and a little longer than the time between Mulan and its live action release, although they changed so much with that one its silly to call it a live action remake.

Wait what? They’ve had all that happen, and they’re still trying to pump out this movie?

Yeah they’re definitely not beating the allegations re: money laundering. Hopefully Disney continues to tank.

The two casting controversies were concerning Nani and David. Nani's actress is "too light-skinned" to be Hawaiian, so "colorism", and David's actor got caught using the gamer word a couple of years ago (based).

We are at a point where actual screenwriters are taking social media into account and f****** up their movies because of it.

A person creating a character with "problematic" traits doesn't mean that it's an endorsement of those things, more often than not they're supposed to go out of them by the end of the film or show.

Mess up because Netflix is omitting a lot of Sokoa's sexism despite the fact that it was a vital part of his character growth.

All of this goes back to Disney because it feels like they forgot and how to write a flawed character who eventually evolves over the course of the film.
Every female character they make now is automatically in the right no matter how flawed their logic is, it seems like the world just bends to their whim.

Disney Loses First Amendment Fight With Ron DeSantis in Federal CourtV

A federal judge has dealt a major setback to Disney in its fight with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, throwing out the company’s First Amendment lawsuit.

Disney argued that the governor retaliated against the company for its protected speech when he dissolved a special tax district that governs the company’s Orlando theme parks.

But in a ruling on Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Allen Winsor granted the state’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit, finding that Disney did not have standing to sue the governor and that Disney cannot challenge a facially constitutional action by claiming a retaliatory motive.

A spokesman for DeSantis, Jeremy Redfern, issued a statement declaring that “the Corporate Kingdom is over.”

“The days of Disney controlling its own government and being placed above the law are long gone,” Redfern said. “The federal court’s decision made it clear that Governor DeSantis was correct: Disney is still just one of many corporations in the state, and they do not have a right to their own special government. In short — as long predicted, case dismissed.”

In its own statement, Disney indicated it will appeal the decision to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

“This is an important case with serious implications for the rule of law, and it will not end here,” a Disney spokesperson said. “If left unchallenged, this would set a dangerous precedent and give license to states to weaponize their official powers to punish the expression of political viewpoints they disagree with. We are determined to press forward with our case.”

You got a sweetheart deal that gave you a special separate fiefdom. If anything, losing that fiefdom is far more "fair" to all corporations in Florida.

Too many terminally online people taking everything they see in media literally and calling it "bad writing" led to decisions like this being made.. Like you said, portrayals are not endorsements.

Pretty much this.
We're experiencing the " Beatification" of our society where everyone wants to wear a barometer that virtue signals how " progressive" they are while forgetting how society is.

These same people are secretly some of the worst people you can run into but keep up an idealized online persona.

The problem is that this has now bled into our media which is why everything feels so hollow and or preachy.

They are most likely obligated to work on this garbage because of contracts. At this point Disney has to know that this movie will be another disaster but it's not that they can just quit the production (or can they?). They will crap it onto the market & barely do any advertising. Because it's not worth it.

I saw a tweet that stated that Moana and Encanto were some of the most streamed movies this year.

You know it's bad when a film that's nearly a decade old is getting watch time and not the 100th film shill-fest.

Gina Carano has tweeted (X'ed?) saying that she is filing a legal complaint against Lucasfilm and Disney concerning her firing. Musk set it in motion! Wonder if it will be mentioned in this week's Disney earnings call?

Gina's going full Jihad.

@ginacarano
Today is an important day for me--I am filing a lawsuit against
@lucasfilm
&
@Disney
After my 20 years of building a career from scratch, and during the regime of former Disney CEO Bob Chapek, Lucasfilm made this statement on Twitter, terminating me from The Mandalorian: “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm & there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural & religious identities are abhorrent & unacceptable.” Nothing could be further from the truth. The truth is I was being hunted down from everything I posted to every post I liked because I was not in line with the acceptable narrative of the time. My words were consistently twisted to demonize & dehumanize me as an alt right wing extremist. It was a bullying smear campaign aimed at silencing, destroying & making an example out of me. The thing is I never even used aggressive language. I shared thought provoking quotes, pictures, memes & occasionally I used my own words, not with aggression but with respect & the occasional comedy to keep the mood light in dark times. Look with your own eyes at what I posted and ask yourself, for example, where did I compare Republicans to the Jewish people in the holocaust? I didn’t. Ask yourself why they were calling me a racist, was there any merit behind that or history of it whatsoever? No. Look at why I was called a transphobe--for making droid noises from Star Wars? “Beep, bop, boop” was obviously directed to the online bullies and did not in any way denigrate transgender people. Were my questions about masks, lockdowns & forced vaccines ok to ask & push the subject into the light? Should we have been allowed to publicly discuss those topics at that time without being harassed or censored? Absolutely. Hollywood says they support female representation & equal rights. Why then were my male co-stars permitted to speak without harassment & re-education courses or termination, but I was not afforded the same right to exercise my freedom of speech. Artists do not sign away our rights as American citizens when we enter into employment. I have spoken to all my co-stars since I was fired & there is nothing but care and kind words between us. I respect their right to free speech & do not have to think the same on every issue to be their friends & work with them & I know they feel the same towards me. A couple months ago
@ElonMusk
tweeted that if you had been fired from using the platform (X) for exercising your right to free speech, he would like to offer these people legal representation. Quite the noble offer, but never in my wildest dreams would I have thought anyone would take on my case against Lucasfilm/Disney. Still, I did respond back “I think I qualify” & thousands of people agreed--but I did not expect anything. To my surprise, a few months ago I received an email from a lawyer who had been hired by X to look into my story & many others. Turns out after sending them as much information as I could gather these past few months, my now lawyers & X believe whole-heartedly in my case & are moving forward. I would like to express my deepest gratitude & thank you to
@ElonMusk
&
@X
for giving me an opportunity to bring my case to light. As for me, I would love to pick up where I left off & continue my journey of creating & participating in story-telling, which is my utmost passion & everything I worked so hard for. It has been difficult to move forward with the lies & labels stuck on me, backed & encouraged by the most powerful entertainment company in the world. I am grateful someone has come to my defense in such a powerful way & look forward to clearing my name. Thank you to all the people who have supported me & made your voices heard. I pray God blesses each & every one of you. With love, Gina Carano For inquiries contact: CaranoLawsuit@schaerrjaffe.com
