I went to my local theater to see Inside Out 2 and I’m in the same boat as a lot of you, the film wasn’t white-hot garbage like Turning Red but it wasn’t better than the original Inside Out.

That’s been the case for a long while now, they’re both owned by the same company and use similar retail strategies to bring in customers (especially when it comes to promotions, Lunch Money and Hot Cash function in the exact same way). The only differences I see are the “style” of nerds they cater to (HT moved towards edgy nerds whilst BL moved towards “cutesy” nerds) and what ”need of the day” their charities they support (HT’s supports art programs, BL’s supports food programs, and both support LGBTQIA+ charities when they need some tax returns).

And yet they still don’t require some form of doctor’s notice/IEP to get it because of privacy and/or discrimination laws.

This seems to be the major Disney pivot on the horizon. Milquetoast super safe middle of the road content that isn't as bad as the last five years, but nowhere near Disney's height.

Another example, Deadpool 3 is better than all of Phase 4 and 5 but is still easily the worst of the three Deadpool's by a significant margin.

Sorta Disney related news. A 47-year-old man has been charged after allegedly stealing over $600,000 worth of limited edition Bluey coins.
Police allege the man was an employee at a warehouse where the Australian Mint packages were being held before their release. Police says only 1,000 of the coins have been accounted for a most will now be in circulation.

I caved and downloaded a telesync of the Deadpool movie. Oh yeah Dogpool is the star of that show. also telesync sucks
 
D23, basically Comic Con for Disney if you didn't know, is this weekend. Normally, I try to catch the Amusement park presentation because that's what I mostly care about and I want to see how they are going to continue to destroy EPCOT. Well this year, instead of being streamed to everyone on YouTube, it seems it will exclusively be streamed in fucking FORTNITE.

I can not find any articles indicating if there will be a standard online stream, and some article say specifically that there will not be a standard online stream. What a bizarre partnership. They aren't even letting me be a weird Disney adult anymore, unless I download fortnite, of course. I'll have to find a twitch streamer streaming it on fortnite or something, or just watch it after.
 
So, sailed the seven seas and watched Inside Out 2. I loved the first one and heard 2 wasn't at least offensively bad, so gave it a go (90 minute runtime also helped).

Left the same impression as Incredibles 2. A rethread for the most part. Alright to pass some time but 0 staying power. The DIVERSITY was pretty blatant, I'm not going to say there doesn't exist a black ice hockey female trainer in the US, but something tells me you would have a very very very very hard time finding one. Double so for hijab wearing ice hockey player.

The pouchy joke which from the theater audio was the "hit of the film" didn't generate much of an impression. I did chuckle here and there but even now can't remember anything specific.

The emotional moments didn't feel earned either and Riley acting like a retard in the first movie and her parents forgiving her? Very fair, but in this one, her deranged behavior in the match would have had her kicked out of the camp and ghosted to oblivion by the rest of the team (stealing the puck from a teammate would probably start a brawl then and there in any real hockey situation).

It least it isn't about periods out of 5.

to be fair this was made by Hollywood writers. They probably don't do any active sports, let alone be familiar with ice hockey behaviour.

So to put the Disney streamer/tuber eco system in focus. The last few years the annual Disney Halloween Event (separately ticketed of course) that has "free" trick or treating has had 2 dates always sell out in the first hour of them releasing tickets for sale. Halloween Night and opening day.

This year it overlapped with this convention and the tubers being gone made it not sell out immediately and take a few weeks to sell instead. Instead the first one happening after the convention immediately sold out.

Thats thousands of tubers chasing the mouse and needing to be first to get that hit of mickeys cum.

Its actually vacation advice now. "Oh if you go this date there will be swarms of people with cameras taking up space and getting mad at your kids, avoid that date"
