Sci-Fi channel used to play anime before the 9:30am Saturday airings of MSTK reruns. That was how I was introduced to anime. I also seem to remember Japanimation being a term for anime at some point back in the day.
Yes, I liked it up and it was the term from the 80s, I especially remember it for work that was ordered by western studios but animated in Japan, like The Last Unicorn. Technically it was western in style but still had a hint of Japanese design. LadyAmalthea.webp

Well, apparently, it got into controversy AGAIN when Snoop Dogg didn't want to bring his grandchildren to a movie where a lesbian couple were able to bang and a baby because he found it awkward as fuck and impossible to explain to grandkids.
At least Snoop Dogg earned some respect from me. You can't make a baby with 2 eggs no matter how much mental gymnastics these woke idiots would say.

Co-character designers were Lester Abrams and Tsuguyuki Kubo, with Abrams also having done the original initial sketches.

Much more information on the making of the Last Unicorn movie.

Ya know I was kinda excited for the Haunted Mansion movie, I knew they would fuck it up, but it was nice to dream. Instead they shoved in a bunch of negro leads in a movie about a haunted Antebellum planation.

The 1997 Tower of Terror film was great, but Disney lacks to balls to make a dark movie like that again.

That was how it was for me 30 years back. Video stores would have "JAPANIMATION" as a banner for that section.

And somehow my mom thinks Pokémon was what got me into anime for good. Like, nah, I was clearly exposed to Japanese animation since I was a babe, so naturally I would gravitate towards the look lol.

No different from being a preschooler in the 80's watching Nickelodeon's Pinwheel series and all the weird foreign crap I've seen.

I think the Hello Kitty craze in the mid-2000s had something to do with it for me. And then if course twenty years later, it's popular once again.

Not bad for a character that started in the 1970's. We've had Hello Kitty crap for decades.

The Snoop Dogg situation is pretty important because it's the terminally online freaks saying the quiet part out loud.

They don't actually care about minorities they just want to use them as a prop to make themselves look good for internet clout.

I can't tell you how many of these so-called progressives, I've got it in the arguments about because they have lionized themselves as being incredibly virtuous and unthalleable compared to their "uneducated white counterparts" and they proceed to say some of the most racist stuff imaginable.

Diversity doesn't just mean the skin color but freedom of thought and expression but now they are basically telling a black man from the hood how he should be thinking and why his politics are bad.

What I hate about this is that Snoop said he was "scared" in a very joking light, and all these headlines and videos make it seem like he's genuinely afraid of movies. It's already stupid enough to support Disney's brand of faggotry. It's just virtue signaling from a big company.

I laughed at it, Snoop is pretty funny and frankly harmless. Anyone would feel awkward in that situation especially with a young kid. This whole situation really is forced drama, literally people trying to find scraps to get worked up about.

Another thing that these articles and freaks forget about is the context.

It wasn't until the gay 2010s, with the Advent of Tumblr that people were outwardly going out of their way to throw in your face what they were into sexually.

Back in the day, a lot of the stuff was tongue and cheek and only ever implied, but now it's not uncommon to see somebody tweet out their depraved sexual fantasy and they will then turn to you and expect you to accept it otherwise you are whatever form of bigotry they can think of in their head

If you're bored and want a fun game, try and make older, good movies sound as generic as this announcement makes this new one sound.

Like, "Pixar announces Monsters, Inc., a story about two coworkers that turn their work life upside-down and test the strength of their friendship".

You have to actively omit vital information to make them not sound much more interesting than "what if weird kid actually magic?".

Flynn an arcade owner, plays computer games and gets rid of malicious software.

Teenager Marty McFly, teams up with an old professor to bring romance into his parent's lives.
