God, that Beauty & The Beast remake was so damn awful.

I went with my friends for a "girls night," which was fun in of itself, but man. I was the ONLY one out of my group of friends who said "meh" when the credits were rolling. Everyone else looooved it.

Fast-forward to almost two years later, and now I hear my friends bitching about the movie and how awful Emma Watson was as Belle. lol. I'd say the movie has already been forgotten.

I'm so glad I didn't see Beauty and The Beast remake. It's my favorite Disney film and I don't want to be reminded of the remake every time I watch the animated one.

My mother adores the Beauty and the Beast remake, largely because the original is one of her favorite movies. She actually saw it twice at the theater.

I've never seen it myself, but that's because I haven't seen the original either.

The original is arguably the best animated movie ever. There was zero chance for a remake to measure up to it in the first place.

No hyperbole (at least from me). It's an amazing movie.

I'm surprised it took that long for them to come around.

I wish they didn't autotune at all.
Emma Watson had to learn singing before signing up for the movie. Bringing her in was a huge mistake.

I'm not even joking, she demanded so many retarded creative decisions that I don't understand why they just didn't get any other pretty brunette who can decently sing. It's Hollywood, you can't throw a stone without hitting at least five of them. Hell get Alison Brie for fuck's sake.

Because Harry Potter is the Bible for millennials and Hermione is their Mary.

I really, really wish any studio doing a musical would look to Broadway for actors and actresses. I mean there’s probably a young Julie Andrews, an Angela Lansbury, hell a Rex Harrison (even if he could only talk to a rhythm), rather than bring out another star who horribly brutalizes the singing because they have “star power”.

The Live Action Aladdin trailer had just been released:

I don't know what to say about Genie aside that I feel disappointed about him.

Everything about this remake is just a downgrade from the original. The original's visuals are amazing and vibrant while this just looks dull in comparison. Even the new character designs are bland and forgettable; there's nothing that makes them pop. Jafar is especially awful, because his voice has none of the menace of the animated movie's.

Everything I've seen about this movie just tells me it's not going to be as good as the original. I just don't get this, why would I want to watch a half-assed live action remake of a phenomenal animated movie?

Unfortunately, I have a feeling this movie's gonna perform semi-decently at least since Disney's pandering hard to the nostalgia crowd.

Because you grew up with it. Ergo, you will buy it when it's been regurgitated to you at 5% of its former quality.

Given there's been a couple of controversies about this movie already, I expect the Aladdin remake to turn into a shitstorm real quick.

Jafar sounds like he’s a snotty twelve year old who’s voice hasn’t broke yet.

Holy shit is Abu completely CGI? :stress: (Carpet looks okay from what little we saw. Carpet was obviously going to be CG'd so they couldn't fuck it up.)

Will Smith Genie is terrifying. No thank you, I'm going back to Shark Tale.
