Didn't Chris mention that she was taking money from his account? As much as I or anyone here disagrees with Captain Capitalism, he has a point on one of his latest videos, 3:35:

Chris should take Cappy's advice and leave, and taking things from him is child abuse even if he is an adult.

However, I do think it's telling that Chris doesn't see any problems. Chris doesn't seem to understand how unpleasant and unstable Barb seems to be. Yea, he complains about how she makes him do minor shit and needs him, but he doesn't see anything wrong with her personality. He doesn't see her hoarding as an issue nor does he recognize her isolation.
Barb has Chris pretty brainwashed, but he does notice and complain (privately) when she's so irrational and batshit that even he notices it. Oh, and both Chris and Bob together were bothered by her hoarding, but when they attempted to do something about it, Barb chimped and threatened suicide.
I really wouldn't be surprised, but IDK if we'll ever know for sure because the Chandlers avoid psychiatric care like they avoid exercise, healthy food, and most anything else that would help their situation.
I think this is something of a myth. Bob objected only to a specific mental treatment for Chris, that is the situation where he thought they were trying to put Chris in a home. He didn't object to mental treatments in general, and Chris took coping classes in high school. Chris is also taking group therapy, but that happened after Bob died.

Both Chris and Barb contribute to the house's finances (and Barb's credit card debt), but Barb holds the keys and forces him to give him money when she wants it. I don't think she gives him much info on their expenses, so it's hard for him to budget.

with how she loves to chimp out over tiny things like threatening suicide, blowing up over Chris and Bob not wanting spaghetti, and claiming that she was afraid Chris would kill her because he was cross dressing (lol) shows she fucking loses it whenever she's not in control. That kind of behavior goes beyond being an asshole and into "somethings wrong with you".

She was also a huge skank who lied about Coles real dad and went after her brother in law, and loves to think of herself as better than other people (I'm a descendant of Anne Boleyn/ they hate me because I'm so smart/ I don't know why my oldest kid hates me/ :qsand:).

She's just a huge narcissist on top of being a white trash bitch, it doesn't excuse her behavior but it certainly explains it.

I'd say absolutely, people don't turn into hoarders if they have normal emotional development. I can see BPD given her history with her kids and how Bob never managed to put his foot down about the hoard; some BPDs can be extremely manipulative and can't take responsibility for their own choices. It's always someone elses fault that things are the way they are, there is always an excuse. You can see this in Chris' videos about how the whole family has abandoned her when the only common link is her.

The drinking and weight fluctuation also points to BPD since disordered eating and substance abuse are common. BPD can express in over 217 different symptom arrangements so it can be hard to pin down for sure, but she does exhibit a lot of the symptoms and co-morbid disorders.

I'm not an expert but I always suspected that she's at least mildly autistic herself. Unlike Chris she was raised in a time where it wouldn't have been diagnosed.

Basically, I think she's kinda what Chris would have been if he never knew he was autistic. Still an asshole, still a weirdo but at least knowing how to pretend to be a somewhat normal person.

I'm just a layman, but I'm pretty confident Barb isn't autistic. Barb has a solid grasp of social mores. She can be very genial when she wants to be. She just tries to use whatever charm she has to be bitchy and exploitative. I couldn't say if she qualifies as a sociopath, or just merely an asshole, but there's certainly something to look into there.

Barb comes off more as a case of manic bipolar disorder to me, and she likes using destructive habits (such as hoarding, abusing alcohol, or when she was younger, being a total slag) to stabilise her moods. When you consider that she's threatened to harm and/or kill either herself or others when in desperate emotional spots but thankfully (as far as we're aware) has never done such, I'd say there's probably a good chance of that.

Edit: Sorry, totally forgot about her assaulting a police officer in 2011, but my opinion remains unchanged.

The fact that she's so manipulative seems like evidence that she's not autistic.

BPD and narcissistic personality disorder are (or can be) fairly similar, or comorbid disorders. They're both cluster B disorders (so are histrionic and antisocial personality disorder, for that matter). She seems more narcissistic than borderline to me, but it's not impossible she could have traits of both.
