BPD and narcissistic personality disorder are (or can be) fairly similar, or comorbid disorders. They're both cluster B disorders (so are histrionic and antisocial personality disorder, for that matter). She seems more narcissistic than borderline to me, but it's not impossible she could have traits of both.
Yeah, narcissists tend to be comorbid with the entire B spectrum, and sometimes obsessive-compulsive/controlling. God knows what other horrible things Barb has done aside from sleeping with her brother in law. Cole should write a memoir about his mother and brother

Hoarding can be an OCD thing too, can't it? Wonder if that had anything to do with it, or just laziness.
Again, not that it can't be both. She could be a sick piece of shit without that disqualifying her from being a lazy selfish piece of shit.

Barb's too aware of other people's feelings and thoughts to be autistic- in fact, being aware is probably why she's so good at manipulation. Her moods are also, from what we know, too kneejerk and erratic for bipolar disorder- bipolar moods are more gradual and swings take place over a longer period of time.

I'm still going with narcissistic personality disorder; almost all the BPD cases I know/have read about involve some fairly extreme levels of self-hatred on top of everything else, whereas narcissists tend to have an inflated positive view of themselves. All of Barb's threats of suicide and such have come about directly from attempts to manipulate others, and she clearly sees herself above others ("I'm a descendant of Anne Boyeln" etc). She expected a geriatric with heart problems to run around after her, and now he's gone she tries her hardest to get Chris to do the same.

multiple personality disorder

I mean she weighs as much as 4 people so

I'm late to the party, but Barb does seem to exhibit most of the symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder. The two are often co-morbid and, when you're dealing with a parnt, the distinction between them can seem arbitrary.

On the other hand, you can be a terrible parent and a horrendous human being without having a named mental pathology.

Autistic people normally can't manipulate other people. Manipulation is knowing how another person feels about things and also the ability to guess how they will react to given situations. Barb probably has a personality disorder, but she's not autistic.
I wouldn't say that's necessarily true, actually. There's... I don't want to say "a lot of people", but there's definitely a number of people who use the autism card to get out of jail free when they're doing things they know aren't okay and if that isn't manipulative I don't know what is.

The most manipulative person I've ever known had a real toxic combination of mild asperger's, severe bipolar, and terrible USI (EDIT: after accidentally inflicting a thing on poor @beechiness that I think most people could've happily lived their entire lives without knowing, it occurred to me that I should probably specify I meant unwarranted self importance.) due to shitty parenting. But you're right, for every person like her there's probably two or three who desperately try to manipulate other people but can't quite pull it off because they're either dumb as a box of rocks or too unaware of how most humans work (or if you're OPL, it's both.)

I don't think Barb has autism, though it's an interesting theory. I just don't think she's smart enough to be that manipulative with a developmental disability like that working against her ("I'm a descendant of Anne Boleyn" at the very least proves she's never opened a fucking history book). Based on what we know of her I'm gonna hop on the cluster-B-disorder-if-anything bandwagon too.

I had to look USI up. Just learned that "urodynamics" is a thing.
... Well that's a thing.

(in all seriousness, sorry about that! I kinda forgot that USI is an acronym that can lead to a million things that may or may not be SFW. I fixed it.)

I had a few options and figured it was plausible that the person in question could have urodynamic stress incontinence due to poor parenting...

I've been reading about dirty crapped briefs for too long.

This is definitely true. Chris himself is dumb as a rock but even he natively understands how to throw the autism card as a shield against consequence.
