I'd wager that Barb mostly only gives Chris directions and then barks demands at various store employees. When she doesn't get what she wants, she immediately launches into a diatribe about it being terrible customer service and how dare they treat an old woman like that.

Depends, maybe he'll tard rage and tell him he is both a JERK and that he's no Bob as if he actually loved the late Internet Lumberjack. As long as this stepdad doesn't try to actually parent him and gets Barb to loosen her grip on him, then he'd probably be happy. Or he'll take it as a troll rubbing it in his face that he can't get a boyfriend free girl to make into a sweetheart from the ground up.

I used to work in a call centre for an energy provider and we'd get no end of calls from people like Barb. Lonely, housebound, old people who would make up things to complain about so that they can hear a human voice.
Given Barb's history of blaming almost every adverse event in her life on outside factors, I reckon she's probably spent quite a lot of time bellowing for discounts because she thinks she has been ripped off.
I reckon a fair few of her nuisance lawsuits are probably instigated just so she'd have something to do. Like Chris and his war on the trolls, Barb rages against customer service workers, because if you've got a fight, your life is a little less pointless.
That's how I see it anyway.

According to the CWCki after the alleged abuse at Nathanael Greene, the Chandlers sued the Greene county school district, but the case was dropped in 1994 for reasons not disclosed. Also, she planned to sue the Chinese restaurant, but after she was told it was colitis, she ended up not filing a lawsuit.

I'm sure Barb is just like Chris in that she makes a lot of wild claims and calls them "plans". But it's not really planning when you don't develop it and sit on your ass until it doesn't happen automatically.
