Well, looks like we're coming to a sad end to a formerly fun show. After a long hiatus that occurred abruptly mid-season, it's returned and is slowly sliding downwards to its denouement. I don't have it in me to write a real eulogy to it. Character development has largely been synonymous with becoming more boring. Crazy Jane, we haven't seen her multiple identities for sometime. She's just Jane now and I can't even recall the last time she used a power. Cliff is trapped in a stagnant immaturity, never stopping being crass but also having lost the charm of his initial anger. Larry is just... there. A dull boyfriend arc provoking the only real response from me - a flick of my finger to fast forward through any male-male kissing. Rita still has a little fire. A nice exchange between her and Madame Rouge: Rouge - "I've never thought of you as a monster." Rita - "That's because in our friendship the monster was always you." But the whole thing bar the very occasional spark (usually Rita), is just flat.
The last episode was even a musical episode, and still didn't raise a smile. It can probably best be summed up by referencing the sex ghosts who are given corporeal form to provide chorus and backing dancers. A blobby, pasty, deeply physically unattractive bunch in faux-sexy corsets, that I couldn't find less to do with "sex" if I tried.
There are two episodes to go, I think. I genuinely wouldn't recommend anybody bother if anybody is still with this in Season 4.
