DOOM

Hey gamers.

Do any of you happen to know a port that runs on android, but has functional T9 keyboard controls and doesn't have to rely on touch screen?

I've tried searching but nothing but the Doom RPG seems to mention it.

Why in gods name would you want a t9 keyboard setup?!
Do you have a t9 only keyboard? I guess any port which allows keyboard could probably use a bluetooth keyboard input and you could do that, but at that rate, just pack a folding keyboard and compact mouse in a little pack with you.

My phone has a t9 keyboard and no touch screen, but it's backend is android 8.1 and I can install apps via adb lol. I was just curious if it existed, since carrying around a keyboard and mouse just for doom while on break is kind of overkill.

edit: as a side note, the java version of Doom RPG for the old phone systems works great on it.

I honestly don't know what those keys would output as. It MIGHT output as normal keyboard? I would try downloading like gzdoom and try binding them and just SEEING if the keys are even picked up by the game.

Update: I got it running via Freedom with the doom wad. The menu screen inputs are shit, but it did register all the buttons on my keyboard so I was able to remap it and run on the little t9 keyboard + extra buttons the phone has.

I think if its THIS https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.nullsum.freedoom&hl=en_US Then its actually a fork of GZDOOM, technically speaking.

Glad you were able to figure it out though
Yeah that's how I found it. I don't have access to the Google Play Store on this phone (it's a completely google free android out of the box) but it was up on f-droid for ez download. It's hilarious running it sideways with the phone and one handing the keyboard since it only runs in landscape. Thanks for the GZDoom suggestion.

Also, seems heres a video of someone going over all the new doom assets.
That's Troon(chaser)kid and he's fat, ugly unwashed aussie faggot.
Wow. That looks quite boring. I guess using all the same formula from two previous games haven't done the upcoming game any justice.

BRING. BACK. DOOM3. BY MAKING. ITS. DIRECT. SEQUEL. CUNTS!

Also get these. Not that I would complain about the requirements.

Definitely looks slower overall than its predecessors. I imagine it'll be faster in actual gameplay but we've come a long way from "standing still is death" in 2016.

As a noticer of Doom Eternal's top 5 all time greatness, I'm really hyped despite my divine hatred for prequels

BUT WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE PRICES MAN?!

I'm Turkish so it's a little better but 80 EUROS in Germany?! I bet my 3090 that the sales would be more than double if they slashed the price in half. They always go on a %30 sale in 6 months anyways. So it's just another tier of early access cost and it's not like everybody has hundreds of unplayed games on Steam or anything.

They really handicapped the initial hype which would have helped them to reach even more normies.

See you guys in September I guess

All these inflated prices will do is increase piracy and make games with reasonable prices more popular (anything above 20 dollars is a waste of money). 6 years ago publishers would throw free games around like candy for several months. I've received like 15+ or more games that way, showing that software is essentially almost worthless in this day and age.

Doom previews are just cursed. Every time they show off gameplay for a new instalment it's demoed by someone who learned about the concept of video games earlier that morning.
Doom Eternal is also a very boring game if you don’t know what you’re doing.

I'm skeptical of TDA from that showing but I don't think 2016 had any good showings and the good showing Eternal had was basically smoke and mirrors so I hope this is a repeat. The main thing causing concern is the slowmo, way too much slowmo. Hopefully you can turn it off.
