No? People were singing Doom Eternal's (and subsequently, id's) praises initially. The Denuvo implementation was the first real case of controversy with the game, but most people seemed to forget about that over time after it got patched back out, despite the real bitchy, official response given to the fan backlash. The shitting of Doom Eternal didn't pick back up until the initial Mick controversy reared its ugly head, and even that died out after some time.
I was talking about the OST. People were absolutely shitting on it and pointing out how bad it was mixed.
Which... It was. But people were also reviewbombing the game itself around the same time, which is I imagine most people would think of first when it comes to subjects of "reviewbombing" and "Doom Eternal", because this was when the initial stuff about Mick Gordon and his complicated tangle with his work on Doom Eternal came to light.
As far as I know it got review bombed because they added Denuvo in the update.
No? The Denuvo stuff and the start of the Mick stuff were fairly far apart from each other in incidence, and the Denuvo BS got resolved and removed before the soundtrack controversy popped up.
The soundtrack was released on April 19th, the Reddit post on May 4th, and the patch with Denuvo was May 14th.
I guess I'm retarded and shifted timelines or something because I remembered events happening in a different order.

Going through all of your human assets like toilet paper is just a corporate thing. Doesn't matter if they're skilled labor or not; if some bean counter thinks it will make the red line go up, then they're getting shafted.
Well it's been a week - you would have had a point if Bethesda had posted... any evidence at all.
If Mick wasn't blackballed by the entire AAA game industry before, he certainly is now. His post has a very "yeah I don't give a fuck about working in this industry anymore" vibe. (More fool to Mick if he expected otherwise).
Don't think Mick had much of a choice whether he'd work in industry anymore, if his reputation damage is to be believed. Might as well burn it down at that point.
Mick made a lot of specific statements of fact though. If they're false he can easily get sued over them.
It sounds like his foray into the indie market is going well(e.g. Atomic Heart), so maybe he views dealing with megacorps as more trouble than it's worth. I don't doubt he can still get work, but moving forward he's going to have to be smart about risk assessment. Indie games are hit or miss and he'll do himself no favors attaching his name to shovelware titles.
