Man, I checked this thread manually today of all days.

I've mostly avoided the Doom "community" since the mid-2000s because it's always been full of stupid drama that seemed more and more pathetic as time went on, but I wind up lurking every few years whenever I get the itch to play new WADs. But like a lot of other communities I'm in or have interests in, they've developed fucking tumors that no one is willing to excise.

I'm not talking about transgenders in general: I'm talking about the ones who use that (or any other identity) as a fucking shield to deflect criticism. Nearly every god damn time, the ones that are the most obnoxious, hostile, and vitriolic turn out to be a sex pest and/or actual pedophile, not surprisingly in communities that attract children/underageb& like flies to shit. (Way to go for representation.)

Marisa (the magician, not Heit) and enablers: consider the damage you're doing to transgender acceptance. Fulfilling the prophecy of 1950's anti-gay propaganda is horrible optics. If you're worried about the safety of transgender people, you should think twice before trying to groom children.

Not exactly. Quake has a "modern remaster" that came out recently which performs like ass compared to the source ports that have existed for several years, and so the reddit /r/quake was invaded by a bunch of zoomers (I'm guessing, or they're really retarded adults) making daily posts about a "Quake Eternal" that they'd like to see happen.

Now that I think about it, ZDoom stole quite a lot from Quake 2 in its early days.

I haven't really touched anything but Crispy in years, but I'm pretty sure ZDoom or GZDoom copied that idtech3 splash screen/pre-game console thingy. I dunno what it's called exactly but I remember I thought it was kinda cool they did that.

I just remember that whole incident where that retard Fairweather accused the main admin of the Quaddicted site for harassment/abuse. I don't remember what it escalated into but it obviously looked like another case where one small group of people wanted to gain power over a community.
I guess no old game community is able to hide from sheer autism like that but at least Quake still has a bunch of fun maps that I could spend another decade playing through.

The reason troons cannot go long without doing something that actively damages their whole 'acceptance' grift whether thats noncing on children or something else, is because troons are (without exception) all massively self-absorbed narcissists, they don't actually give a shit about other troons any more than we do, they just pretend to because broadly speaking its beneficial for them personally in their own personal grifts/self promotion

Reminder vazkii isn't even fucking American last I checked. He's Portuguese, has never stepped foot in North America I don't think, and has nothing to do with American politics. He alternates between making some pretty cool things here and there, to just being insufferable. I used to be fairly active in the modded Minecraft community back in the day, when I realized I was falling out of it and moving on and didn't have time to be involved in such a thing anymore I decided to burn some bridges and call him out on his shit. Surprisingly, I only got support from the rest of the community in doing so. Sure, his fans called me every horrible thing under the sun, but in general, he's not really liked. He's tolerated because he makes incredibly popular mods and has a large fanbase who you just don't want to piss off to avoid the harassment.

He isn't the only one in the community who is an obnoxious fucking alphabet soup pushing mother fucker who keeps injecting his politics into his fucking mod. There are so many mods these days where they randomly have gender and sexuality colour scheme nonsense you can apply. Not only that, but they will make any other kind of silly little customization a whole chore to go out of your way to get, but for no effort you can become some LGBTQ coloured abomination. Motherfuckers I do not fucking need everything to be fucking gay all of the fucking time. It is the dumb fucking block game where I build a castle that functions as a calculator using fucking logic gates. Let me have my fucking escapism from fucking politics that are on every fucking news station and website on the fucking internet. It is mother fucking Minecraft. If I wanted everything to be gay, I would build a fucking pride flag after dyeing a thousand sheep and shearing them of their coloured wool.

Growing up for me everything was about how you needed to fight against the man and not let him put you in a fucking box. Something they were born as. I see no reason to take pride in something that you had no part in accomplishing. Existence is not an accomplishment. There is no pride to be taken. And the worst part is, these people have made a thing. I have made a thing that at least one other person has downloaded. They should be proud of that. They have an accomplishment, maybe not a great one but there is an accomplishment there to be had. That is the real brain rot of all of this. It isn't even like I dislike the LGBT. I'm a fucking part of them. It just doesn't define me, and it isn't the dominating factor I consider when I look at another human being. Maybe I just had too good of an upbringing. I won't get into Vazkii gender here, but having his gender started as male, then it was non-binary when that was new, then it was trans woman, then it was female, was demiboy. With random periods where pronouns would regress or progress and people would lose their shit on you for using the wrong pronouns because you were a few days behind or they were. Vazkii is why I developed a style of speech that made people super butthurt, proper nouns only, just to avoid the drama.

Vazkii really could do with his own thread, but a lot of history is lost to IRC, deleted discord servers, and other volatile forms of communication. He also has lucid periods where he quietly deletes asshole things he's said on Twitter, YouTube, Reddit, Discord or GitHub when no one is looking so it can't be dug up on him in the next spat.
