I didn't have professors this bad but the craziest ones I had were also the most chill. They would basically give everyone an A in the class as long as they turned in an essay or make half the class participation grade or something else easy. Maybe COVID made them lose their marbles since online classes made it 100% more apparent that nobody in the class is paying attention and you're talking to yourself.

pretty much every humanities professor i had in college like 10 years ago was on the verge of a mental breakdown as they tried to shoehorn their own opinions into an increasingly strict and illogical agenda. i had a history teacher who was a scholar on labor unions and it was pretty obvious he was mad that nobody really cared about unions and that was what he wanted to talk about and he saw it as a solution to the problems in society but nobody in the classroom even cared about the 'problems' because it was 10 years ago and these were millenials from small towns . i had a really mean ethics professor that pretty much entirely relied on getting people to contribute and then misconstruing people's statements to put them on the spot who got increasingly more passive aggressive when people stopped raising their hands.

there's a whole layer of occult bullshit in regards to curriculum policy and its really just to trick those people into setting up situations in their classroom where the four people who are paying attention just kind of railroad everyone else through the topic with group activities and forcing an arbitrary percentage of multiple choice questions on the exams is just so anyone with above a 100 iq can just sail through the classes with a passing grade just by kind of staring at power points half-asleep. covid has probably done a lot to make those people seem more unhinged to students

Possibly, but most of the stories we see have been kind of funny or an "opps" moment like that teacher that forgot her camera was on and her computer livestreamed her having sex in front of her class. How you forget that your camera is on in the morning when you know you host online instruction is anyone's guess. This dude, however, is truly unhinged and not in a "deeper than society would ever understand" kind of way or even a white nationalist sort of way; he needs medication and hardcore psychiatric help.

Mine haven’t taken a nose dive into crazy town like Matthew Harris, but so far I’ve been made to take a 20pt quiz over our prof’s self-introduction PPP, offered extra credit if I sent pictures of my niece (obviously reported this,) and received an F on a 1,500 word paper for spelling another prof’s last name wrong. My friend at a different uni had her professor call her on Zoom and cry for 30 minutes to her because she reported him for threatening to not let her graduate if she didn’t take an internship with him. I’ve never had or known anyone who had experiences like this before the pandemic, and unless I’ve just been living in a bubble until now, I’m going to assume COVID really messed with them.

I kind of don't want to believe you because that sounds utterly ridiculous. The worst experiences I have are some boomer professors not knowing how the online classrooms work even after two years of this shit.

Well he (Heidegger ) did join the Nazi Party and his notes do show that he didn't like "calculating" Jews. His own notes show that he used his own philosophy to justify their treatment. Look up "Schwarze Hefte"
