I am not honestly surprised with how he unravelled. As a former History PhD candidate in a prestigious UK university in 2015, there were all sorts of coverups going on, people were being hid because of the mental health issues, sexual assaults and alcoholism being the most prominent issue. PhD candidates were down right creepy. A former couple had to be placed separately because the woman complained that the guy was aggressive and a stalker so instead of properly investigating they moved him on a street level office to work. A professor who was known to be handsy and is quite well respected in his field was quickly moved out and ended up in another prestigious London University.

I worked as a RA to help defray costs of my studies and when I suggested you know, teaching the students both undergrads and grads some form of "say you shouldn't drink this much that you black out" or "take drugs in moderation when you do so" they hushed me nd eventually tossed me out for not being "accepting".

These issues are not being dealt with properly in the UK and I fear the same is in the US though I have never been in an American grad school though I doubt its much different. This is an outcome that could have been avoided.

I would guess it is the Native Americans/Indigenous/Native peoples (or however you want to term them). There is DNA evidence that suggests they come from Central Asia/Far East/Mongolia so that could be the answer but I wouldn't honestly know.
