They put him on leave as soon as the allegations got brought forward. The school didn’t fire him because he was obviously suffering a mental break. Remember, HR at universities is there to protect the university. Not the students. It’s also very possible someone did notice, did bring up the issues, and the administration was investigating and then the student complaints also came in. UCLA obviously wants to keep what goes on inside at least somewhat confidential.

He was essentially on the road to being fired anyway (because he’s a schizophrenic Incel) this just accelerated things.

I think this is a really insightful observation, and a very important thread to pull.

I've known quite a few blacks who employed similar sorts of defense mechanisms when constrained by more middle-class (white) social standards. They reflexively, unconsciously, intuitively pick up on the fact that their psychologies are at racial odds with their social environment. A similar thing happens when other races are forced to extensively interact with blacks, and their cultural modes when it's simply not culturally appropriate. That is to say, the more spiritually civilized races become extremely agitated when they're forced to defend their psychic cleanliness on a day to day basis against an invading race that not only does not adhere to the same moral framework as they, but are indeed anathema to the one being defended. You can see it in the rise of racial prejudice as America becomes both more black and more socially discordant. You can literally track the usage of the word nigger in analytics software on the internet tightly following the ebb and flow of politically correct language in mass marketing and journalism.

The word nigger is essentially the most offensive and insulting thing you can say to a black as a consequence of the blacks own internalized self-hatred. It immediately draws an insurmountable cultural and physiological line between you and them. I think this guys unconscious was responding to what he saw as an extremely hostile social environment where no one was attracted to him, and no one respected him. Postulating wildly with no concern for logical rigor, my psychological intuition tells me it must have something to do with the social dynamics of the relationship between whites and blacks in America.

The circuit we use to curse is clearly evolutionarily useful for hyper social creatures like us because it's a way to communicate something authentically. If I hurl a brick at you and break your leg, or you accidentally swerve off a cliff while driving, or you spot a charging saber tooth tiger coming for you and your caveman bros, and you thereby promptly shout "MOTHERFUCKER", then there's little doubt you're expressing genuine affect.

Nigger is the most restricted word whites can use and its misuse comes with the highest possible social and legal ramifications. It's become possessed of a borderline magical property through the sheer amount of collective psychic and social energy that's gone into regulating its usage and punishing those who enunciate it without the proper qualifications (having dark skin).

So, if your "holy fuck somethings seriously not right" circuit gets tripped extremely hard, then the most effective way to signal that the emotion you're feeling is authentic, and not feigned, is to curse using the most offensive word you know to hopefully attract immediate attention. And, really, isn't that exactly what happened?

That's my theory, anyway. I think it's why we have a gradation of taboo attached to specific curse words. I bet if you asked people to rank order commonly used curse words from least to most offensive you'd get a very high degree of congruence between people. Everyone would agree nigger is the most offensive, and probably butthead or some such nonsense is the least. The gradation allows us to reflexively represent the level of emotion or pain we're in to any observer, and even to ourselves.
