We currently have to start off four versions of one movie:
Battle of Gods: The Movie
Battle of Gods: The Movie Extended Cut
Battle of Gods: The anime saga that expands it before and after
Battle of Gods: The manga which has some scenes that lead into the Universe 6 and Resurrection F.
The anime adds and changes so many things, there isn't really a definitive version anymore. So what? You watch a few episodes of Super, the movie, and then read the very brief manga for the ending? It's not really conducive in one package. Resurrection F is no better. You have the movie and anime arc AGAIN. The manga just says fuck it, and skips it and says see the movie.
Then we get into the non-movie Super stuff which is its own can of worms. The Universe 6 Arc is next where it's mostly the same until halfway through. Kaioken Blue is not a thing in the manga and it ends completely differently.
After that, we have the Goku Black Arc and that's such a fucking mess. Goku Black might be the single worst arc in Dragonball up to this point. (Until Granolah becomes something most people are forced to see anyway) Toyotaro changes the entire arc outright. So what's the definitive version? Toyotaro's or the anime's? The two arcs are so radically different they might as well not be the same story. So which do you watch or read?
The Broly movie happens at some point and it's canon to both the anime and manga, and neither chose to adapt it.
The Tournament of Power is also another mess. The anime is just an entire arc of fight scenes with virtually no story whatsoever. It's 35 damn episodes of that. The manga just said "No thanks" and Toyotaro doesn't adapt most of it. He just adapts the really important stuff with Kefla and Jiren's team. He completely guts the arc, but at least ATTEMPTS to salvage Jiren as a character. However the manga TOP is so short, it might as well not even have been adapted at all.
The anime might end, but the Moro Arc and Granolah arc continue in the manga and have never been adapted. So you have to jump from the anime, back to the manga again.
Superhero is a little confusing as well. There's the movie, which is easy enough. However, the manga has a Goten & Trunks mini-arc that leads into Superhero (which wasn't released until AFTER the movie, mind you) for another manga-exclusive. There's also the ending chapters of the manga that occur AFTER the movie.
To get the full story of Super, you start with the first few episodes of BOG anime, go to the BOG Movie, end on the BOG manga, watch the first few anime episodes of RF, then the movie, then U6 anime and manga simultaneously, Black as an anime and manga simultaneously, Broly, TOP anime, TOP manga, Moro, Granolah, Goten & Trunks, Superhero, then the manga again for the finale. Mind you, I'm also excluding Dragonball Minus AND Jaco Galactic Patrolman both of which have some relevance to Super.
