OK, time for a text wall.
My dreams are often very fantastical and vivid. Most commonly they contain animals that are exceptional in some way (strange appearance, can talk etc) and strange places that are surprisingly detailed for being an amalgam of places I've been and seen. Most beloved is my "museum", which is based loosely off of a museum I often visited as a child; this is really only apparent in the layout of its main building.
.. Except for its tall escalator that leads to a spaceport (which I have visited and taken a few flights from). That's definitely not a part of the actual building.
Initially I came to the place without knowing where I was. I'm pretty sure I was locked in after hours (I hadn't started my dream journal yet so I'm not positive) due to some kind of mishap and ended up wandering around. They had some sort of space exhibit on display at the time, but as I explored more I found a lot of more permanent exhibits that were equally interesting. Most notably there was a stuffy sort of room whose ceiling was a skylight that contained a variety of bright green rainforest plants, all of them in different stages of growth. There weren't too many flowers and the plants themselves seemed to change their looks at will. I strongly remember the energy and sensation of the room being one of life, of abundance and gentleness. Needless to say, I like this room and am always happy when I revisit it.
The next time I dreamed of this place, I talked to the night watchman from the lobby. He didn't seem the least surprised that I was there, and I can't remember but I think he may have chided me a little for my habit of showing up inside a locked building after-hours. This experience was largely me getting to know this unusual character and, at the end of the dream he gently ushered me out into the night, saying that he wanted me to go home and relax.
After this I started to visit more often, but the dreams themselves became more jumbled as they were sort of just transitionary "snippets". I do know that the night watchman and I were quite familiar after our conversation and oftentimes he would let me in if he saw me approach. Most notable is a time I was dreaming that a friend was with me and we were being chased by three men who were out to capture us. He wordlessly unlocked the door and let us in and we proceeded to hide in an exhibit that contained a shiny black 1920's car in a sort of diorama-like scene with a background of stars.
For some reason, I stopped visiting for a while and when I finally did show up, it started to be at their other building and during the day instead. I strongly suspect that the night watchman got in trouble and was no longer allowed such things, maybe he was fired, I don't know. A myriad of possibilities exists in this realm.
ANYWAY, their other building happens to be just as awesome if not moreso. The place is a giant cylinder (not unlike an enormous grain silo) painted all manner of colors, a different one for each floor. I'm not sure for the upper ones, I think they might graduate downward from red, but I'm positive the bottom-most floor is indicated by buttercup yellow. The courtyard around the entrance is enclosed and the only access route is via a canal of sorts. I ended up first arriving there through a wide, corrugated pipe in the wall that ran a small waterfall into the pond below. This building has a big emphasis on dinosaurs, and as such there's even a shallow area in the pond where kiddies can sift around in some little pellets to find fossil replicas.. I will admit to engaging in this activity myself, even though my dream avatar is always at my waking age.
Inside the building, the first floor is largely dedicated to big animatronic dinosaur displays; there are definitely other things, but these are what I've noticed most prominently. Occasionally they will hold tours which seem a bit more like shows. There are benches in front of every one of these displays and the range of movement that the dinos have is actually quite impressive. I've sat in on a few of these but I unfortunately forget the details. I do know that my favorites are the T-rex and the Stegosaurus.
Also present on this floor is a big and elaborate water slide that's tons of fun to go on. It's red and white and the pool you drop into has a heavy glass side facing the room so you can show off and all that good stuff.
Then there's the elevator, which takes you to the other four floors (I believe three is mostly off-limits unless you need to see the nurse who resides up there, and four is STRICTLY off-limits without permission, I'll explain it soon enough).
On floor two, there is a wide ring of floorspace; the floor itself is shiny and a sort of pea green, which in turn surrounds a giant black net, basically a safety net, because the main focus of this floor is childrens' play areas. There is a huge play structure of sorts, but I have no idea how it's anchored because dream-logic. I do know that the structure in question is very well padded and has no corners. It's vast and enormous, with different sections including a really nice ball pit that bridges the gap between the main structure and a place you can only reach if you wade through. I haven't spent too much time up here so it's a bit indistinct.
Next is the third floor, which contains various offices and is carpeted. Like the second floor its basis is a big ring around the outside with room in the middle, as the play structure stretches up this high with a single tower that has hollow windows but is mostly closed-off for obvious safety reasons.
If you have an injury or what-have-you, the third floor is where you'd go to see the nurse. She's a nice woman, blonde and usually dressed in the stereotypical white. I've gone up here to talk to her before, just for various reasons. I don't spend much time on the third floor because it's inherently boring and not really a visitor area.
The fourth floor I know even less about. I have a strong suspicion it leads to some other dream-world, because I've seen weird and unusual people who made me very uneasy lurking around there. I know it has a long and twisting hallway through one door, but I've never gotten further than the conference room attached to it. There is also a room with a very wide window that stretches over about 2/3 of it, which is strictly a viewing area for the rocket launches that occasionally happen across the way. The room itself is very empty, just white walls with a steel blue carpet.
tl;dr I have awesome dreams.
