since the DSP board is not going to be closed and will just be undergoing some restructuring, I will resume posting when I have the time. i will watch phils vids when I can and write posts from them, but there may be a delay. i will try to note what date the streams I am recapping are from.

I'm going to use this temporarily as the main thread just for some pedantic ranting. I'll move it over once the main thread is unlocked.
DSP recently is sperging out about the 500 members he got from OIC over the span of 3 days, and doesn't seem to get YouTube might have flagged them as suspicious and is looking into them. He is also accusing YouTube of doing illegal shit withholding money, because he assumed each gifted sub has the same payment as a actual bought membership. He's gone as far as tell a fucking YouTube Rep that they are wrong in a chat while on fucking stream.

And people say that Phil is a boring cow and not entertaining at all, when this retard is threatening lawfare over like 60 bucks or some shit.

It's gonna be glorious next month when those 500 memberships expire and he throws a massive begment over the loss.

It's not like we have any mods left, is up to us to maybe make a new main thread?

I honestly don't think it was OIC. Over the past few years Phil usually get a whale migration. E7, King Tut, and others were around this time too.

Will be absolutely hilarious if they are Turkish bought YouTube members at 40 cents a piece.

Phil's absolutely unhinged rant about "real life RNG" and comparing it to BG3 and how it makes BG3 a bad game is peak pignosis.

You know what games have absolutely no RNG and rely solely on personal input? Fighting games. What does Phil blame for his dogshit performance in Street Fighter? DROPPED INPUTS DOOD. PATTERN PLAYERS DOOD. SHITTY ONLINE PLAY DOOD.

It's hilarious that Phil barely lives in the "real world" and constantly tried to compare games to it. I don't know how he still manages to surprise me with how completely delusional he is.

I'm pretty sure his darling child SF2ST had RNG on when it would stun?

It's the same for games like GTA when cars come out of nowhere or the cop couldn't see me or other nonsense. either his character is so convincing everyone falls for it or he is just a retard. And my money is on retard

i managed to catch up on my work from last week, so I have some time to kill today. going to watch phils BG3 gameplay that I missed from January 13th. I know he is streaming it again today and maybe I'll get to that tomorrow.

im watching him on 125% speed and he's been talking for the past 4 minutes that he needs at least 100 dollars for a new pair of headphones. i am not joking, that's the first 6 minutes of part 43 of his playthrough. what a great content creator.

"I don't like Cloud, I think he's a weak protagonist honestly."

phil is standing in front of a Blacksmith's forge, with a minimap on it saying it's the forge, and he is unable to find the forge. pretty cool.

phil has found the Blacksmith forge and is now just taking advice from chat on what he should forge. just sitting here going "what should I get guys? you got any ideas?"

"maybe my companions have it in their inventory, but how would I see their inventory?"

man really asked this after 40 hours in the game.

phil failed a medicine trick to heal the Owlcub and ended up absolutely mangling the owlcub. "I don't think we're gonna see that cub again and there's nothing you can do. what was I supposed to do about that? nothing. just bad luck. Oh well! I tried! probably not going to come back. I'm going to live with it, I won't be some save scumming cheap ass."

phil thinks there's no difference between having a weapon in your main hand or off hand.

phil tried to deceive Greymon on the boat and failed, so now he must fight. this is the first time I've ever seen the boat fight scene.

"why does it say can't reach destination? why doesn't it assume I want to use arrows? that's kind of silly, no?"

because you're on the movement option, retard.

"come on mother fucker, miss miss, two misses. jesus christ, fucking asshole. this fucking pisses me off."

"I like how fireball is 50% chance, are you out of your fucking mind?"

that's 50% for a direct hit, not 50% to deal damage since it's an AoE attack.

"is it me or is astarion worthless now? like he never hits, never ever."

then swap him out?

after about 44 hours phil has arrived at the Underdark Druegar base.

phil pronounced justicar as "justa-see-are"

he is now sitting in menu trying to figure out how to use armor dye, some truly exciting stuff.

"I have dye, I know I have dye, but I don't know what to do here. how do you do that? what menu do you modify shit? *mad dogging chat intensifies*"

"it's such a low damage as a cantrip. maybe that's the catch? that they're low damage because they don't use spells?"

god he's so fucking smart.

"this guy is going to regret pulling me in' I'm about to kiss his a-kick his ass..."

"how am I supposed to know what an explosive is in my inventory? i don't fucking know what any of this is? a grease bottle? a smokepowder bomb? i don't know. i need your guys help because I don't know what's considered a bomb."

you just need force damage, you have eldritch blast, use it on the wall. but that'd also require you being able to learn how to read.

phils eyesight is so fucking bad he can't see the bomb that he placed on the ground.

"it fucked up, I dropped it and it's not in the environment. it just disappeared. where is it? it's gone. i can't even pick it up"

it is literally on the ground in front of him.

"the whole using items in the environment and using items, it's too clunky. the games too clunky, they could've done so much better but they just didn't focus on that."

phil then threw the bomb at the wall and blew everyone up, so now the guards are attacking him.

"the fucking game is terrible in this regard. this is one of the things they fucked it up. i didn't throw it at the gnomes, I threw it at the rocks, this is one of the huge things they fucked up."

you threw it at the rock, which was surrounded by the gnomes.

"it didn't even destroy the cave in? dude this sucks. I'm sorry but this sucks."

after much bitching and struggling, phil has freed Nere.

phil then apparently got soft locked because Nere isn't walking out of the room and phil is just trapped.

"do you believe me now? this is all horrible. they should have stuff that's more action based. by making it a turn based game they fucked it all up"

yeah, a heavily based D&D game needs more action. get this faggy turn-based shit out of here.

"just make the game fucking ease of use. you ever hear of that? ease of use? it makes the game fun to play. they didn't give two shits about ease of use in this game. i'd like to have fun please."

he is raging out because he's too stupid to work the inventory after almost 45 hours.

"why am I facing 11 enemies? what? why am I all of a sudden facing 11 enemies? that doesn't make any sense at all. they weren't even 11 enemies in the room, what the fuck. well, I'm going to die. this makes no sense at all"

1. you didn't talk to the druegar NPCs to strike up an alliance with them against Nere.
2. you picked a fight with a boss inside of his camp with all of his minions.

makes perfect sense to me.

"this makes zero fucking sense. well, where's the asshole? where did he go? where is he?"

instead of attacking the lowest HP enemies first, phil is going after the highest HP enemies because he views them as the "strongest" he is literally attacking someone with 64hp while ignoring 2 enemies with 38hp.

phil used misty step, a teleport spell, to move about 3 feet to avoid being hit by attack of opportunity.

"wait, why can't I do any of these attacks? huh?"

because they take superiority dice and you used them all, as your chat was warning you.

"DOUBLE CRITICAL MISS WITH A 60% CHANCE TO HIT? fuck this shit dude, this is insane trash. we're going to have to do this fight over, there's no way we're surviving this."

"my problem is, because I didn't know we were going to have to fight 11 people, I didn't rest, so I don't have my best spells."

what did you think was going to happen? you were going to challenge Nere to a fight and the druegar would just stand there and let you murder their boss? like what did you think was going to happen here, moron?

"alright, I guess I'll use crooked wand of fireballs. uh...why did he just do that? did I say to walk forward? did you guys see that? i said use crooked wand of fireballs and he walked up."

From the Crooked Wand of Fireballs description: "You can use an action to cast Fireball from this broken wand, all very nearby creatures must make a Dexterity saving throw-"

says so right there in the fine print, my man.

"he fucked up and just did that instead, why did he do that? what's the point of using this if it hits me?"

phil blew himself up with a fireball.

"well, now we're fucked, now we're completely fucked."

"is he beating me up while I'm down? he is, HE'S BEATING ME UP"

phil having flashbacks to middle school.

"it'd be great if we could push him into the lava, but it doesn't look like we can."

why no?

"this is fucking bullshit"

so it's awesome and lucky when they miss all their attacks, but when you miss yours it's fucking bullshit.

"I wanted eldrick blast and not that. i got robbed"

how did you get robbed? you pressed attack.

"ok, fuck this. the sniper gets every shot and I don't, so fuck this. i almost won until the game decided to cheat and make me miss everything in a row, yet their sniper hits everything, fuck this. complete bullshit."

phil has ragequit the fight. Let it be known that Nere is the first fight in the game Phil outright lost.

"I had everything laid out for victory, I'm working my ass off, I'm using strategy, but everything misses so I lose."

you weren't using strategy, you were button mashing.

after 44 hours phil hs reached the Underdark fortress and fought Nere. he lost. sometime this week I will watch him take on the Grymforge.

Baldur's gate 3 is fucking kicking his ass. Grymforge was a nightmare which revealed that after 40 hours phil doesn't understand:

Status effects
Different sources of damage
Interacting with the environment with characters efficiently (like using an arrow to hit a lever)
How movement works

He outright admitted that he's basically not smart enough to enjoy the game since it's "always presenting new challenges" and, when told by chat that this was only going to continue (and get more intense) as he encounters more bosses in Act 3, "I dont want to play it then"

But he still made $100 so he's stuck in the same trap as Divinity. But BG3's days are fucking numbered with how outwardly hostile he is to the game now.

"it's such a low damage as a cantrip. maybe that's the catch? that they're low damage because they don't use spells?"
ok, warlocks are main users of cantrips, mainly eldritch blast. Besides, other classes have viable cantrips - bards with insults, that have lower damage 1d4 but lower chance of landing one attack for one enemy. Wizards and sorcs have highest damage from them all on fire/frost cantrips 1d10. Priests also have pretty useful one with bright damage with 1d6. And you get one extra dice of damage on 5, 11 and 17 levels. So, it can hit up to 40 damage without bonus to main stat
I wonder how much Philbert will rage over lava in golem fight

What's kind of funny is Phil has weirdly defied the odds yet again. In BG3, it's commonly said level 5 is a gamechanger and once you hit it, you're pretty much golden. Levels 1-4 are challenging because you're more RNG dependent and have less of an understanding of the game, but by 5, you get a big power boost and should know what you're doing.

Phil managed to stumble his way through the early levels without that much difficulty (for someone like Phil) but it feels like it's the "easier" levels that are really kicking his ass because he's learned absolutely nothing about the general mechanics of the game. I had actually discounted a lot of the Grymforge fights as being challenging for Phil because they have so many alt-solutions I thought he'd guide/get handheld through them, but I think Phil is just so out of his element by the slightest hint of strategy and tactics that he can't understand the handholding. Gives me some hope we'll see some more rage over nonsensical things before the inevitable ragequit.

He's even admitted as much today, saying that even 40 hours in he still doesn't understand even basic mechanics of the game. Reminds me of when he played Elden Ring and 60 hours in he asked what an Ash of War is.
