Wikipedos think more citations = more true. It's like gish galloping in text form.

It has gotten to the point of parody where articles on political flavor of the week controversies like the Springfield "Pet Eating Hatians" will have more citations and sources for the 20 paragraphs of "orang man bad" than articles on entire wars fought in the 19th century. The Jan 6th Article is both longer and has more citations that the article on the motherfucking Holocaust.

Who’s been working overtime to cram in as many citations as possible to prove how ebil Kiwi Farms is?
Moon responded aggressively and mockingly, calling New Zealand a shithole country,[22][17] and stated that he did not "give a single solitary fuck what section 50 of your faggot law says about sharing [the New Zealand Police's] email."[67][68]
I can't imagine our Null saying such things. It would take at least ten more citations to convince me.

The funniest perennial source is the ADL, which has a three-tier evaluation:

Calling right-wing groups white supremacists and neo-Nazis and "hate groups": 100% reliable.

Calling people antisemitic: it depends. Smearing right-wingers as antisemitic, probably okay. But pro-Palestinians screaming about Jews, well, the ADL can't be trusted on that.

They outright admit that the ADL "has repeatedly published false and misleading statements as fact" and yet conclude it can be totally trusted in other domains.
the ADL is not a reliable source on anything and is literally a far left Jewish blog at this point

I guarantee you after October 7th and the split between the anti-semitic left in the rest of the left who loves sucking Juju cock there's going to be a bunch of leftist starting to deny the Holocaust

putting "corner" to search for that song brings up the "virus family of coof" page for some reason
That's how most modern full-text search engines work by default. WikiMedia uses ElasticSearch with some tweaks. It's thoroughly explained here, while you can find search box query references and functions here. Fuzzy search does not seem to be enabled by default (you need to add a ~ character in the query), but that's not the only thing that would explain such behaviour, which is most certainly a combination of the typo correction (up to 2 character distance, add an "o" and you'll get the song), and most importantly relevance:
The system is using a combination of multiple factors to rank the suggestions:
  • quality based metrics
    • the page size
    • the number of sections
    • the number of external links
    • the number of redirects
    • the number of incoming links
    • the set of template boosts if configured
  • popularity based metrics with the number of weekly pageviews
Coronavirus is simply the most popular article that matches that query and gets the highest spot because nothing else gets even close to it. This shouldn't come as a surprise given in the popular pages article it's stated "COVID-19 appeared on the all-time list in June 2020; the page did not exist in the beginning of the year. In this respect, COVID-19 is the biggest phenomenon Wikipedia has ever known.".

That's a stretch. I personally find it more plausible that the Wikimedia Foundation or tranny jannies are manually tinkering with search results to get people to look at the coronavirus article as often as possible. That's the only way readers can still develop covid hypochondria now that Trump is president.

MSM Outlet: "There are no trees in OakPineBirchMapleton Alabama."

OakPineBirchMapleton Resident: "Actually, our town is almost entirely trees. Every single home is a treehouse. You can't look outside without seeing trees. Here's photographic evidence, files from the town charter, and testimonials from every single living resident in the city."

Admin: "First-hand research is not allowed. If you attempt to edit this article further you will be banned."

The Article: "OakPineBirchMapleton is a town in Alabama that has no trees. [1]. [2]. [3]."

I wonder who even put that one on the main page, and how long it has even been sitting there
What the fuck. I have nothing to say, this site is fucked up. I can't even find words to describe the fucked-up level of Wikipedia. Why is it like this. Where is God. Why did he abandon us.
