For people objecting to scores, it's not that far off. We are seeing astronomical disparity here. Shills gave it an 8.1/10 and users gave it 3.4. This disparity is just way too large to brush off as "entitled manbabies bombing reviews". Sure, it's possible to bomb it with scripts and shit, but then people get that triggered for a reason. Even if we take a liberal approach to the bombings, I doubt the game scored above 6 with truthful reviews considered. That's being extremely liberal here, I'd personally put it at 5 or 4 due to its popularity and literally astronomical player base. Essentially, I don't think review bombing would have a big impact either way. This isn't some small game with 1000 players where review bombing will throw shit off.

You know you can go to the site and count all the zeros right? Over 200 reviews are 0 out of 850 reviews.

Unless you are literally suggesting this is legitimately a 0/10 game then I'll just assume that all reviews on metacritic are still a joke like they have been since time immemorial.

And lets not forget just how badly they fucked up Star Fox 3 whole times.

Mario kart 8 was definitely laziness, the game's battle mode was nothing but mirrored tracks from the racing mode.

The whole slew of NSMB games were all souless husks of mario.

There also a slew of mario spinoff titles like Mario Sports Mix which were pretty awful and just lacking in substance.

If you want to shit on nintendo do it the right way:

- Wii Music
- Brain Age (confirmed as a scam by real scientists)
- 1, 2 switch


Those are the real garbage nintendo has produced in the past few years.

Also, I can't believe you mentioned Mario Kart 8. This game has some of the best music in the history of video games. The soundtrack alone doesn't put it in a list of "lazy" games. And nintendo usually has horrible generic music for their games, this shit is a wonderful exception.

I feel like even in this thread, there's a huge misconception of Pokemon being made by Nintendo. Nintendo barely even publishes the games now, because Pokemon straight up has a company now. They could literally buy ownership rights from Nintendo and bam, they're multiplatform. The most Nintendo does with Game Freak and Pokemon now is giving them devkits, and asking for their characters in Smash.

On the flipside, it's been supposedly noted that Nintendo has private guidelines to not touch NAND (how this became public is not known, but it's known the NAND has issues)

And I may be late on this, but now the game is messing with RokuTVs if the game is on.

Nintendo owns 32% of The Pokemon Company and they jointly publish titles with The Pokemon Company on Nintendo platforms. We can reasonably speculate that Nintendo doesn't do enough to tard wrangle Game Freak because they are one of the publishers and own a large share of the other.
