E3 2015

E3 Press Coverage:

Bethesda -

Doom announced; Didn't pay much attention to it. It began with a soldier putting on a weapon and heading into a station armed heavily. The soldier began shooting up demons and later found another dead soldier with his or her head blown off and the PC soldier picked up the dead soldier's shotgun and began killing more demons. The soldier then found another fully automatic weapon and found a room that had a large 3D hologram projector that showed a large demon killing two soldiers in a brutal fashion. The PC soldier then found a large furnace room with a chainsaw weapon and began killing more demons in the room then pulled out his shotgun again. One kill I noticed that stood out was the soldier killing a demon by ripping it in half his his bare hands and then a small demon lept from off screen and ripped off the soldiers arm and killed him.

There's is going to be multiplayer with plenty of modes. It appears the ability to control demons will be possible in online mode. A wave mode, mode where you kill to earn money and upgrade your own armory, 4 player death match. Snapmap, a mode that allows users to upload their own creations. Map creation and basic scripted events will be possible. This Snapmap can share content between all platforms.

Main game will feature Hell as a setting. Hell appears to be an endless canyon of large mountains with floating sentry robot like things with of course demons and an eary orange fog covers the landscape. I noticed 3 different types of demons in hell such as a large tank like demon, a skinny demon with a rocket like bodyarmor attachment with two symmetrical guns coming out of the armor above the demon's head, and an even larger demon than the first.

Bethesda.net; A community and game mod hub supported by Bethesda.

Battlecry Studios came in to announce a TF2 like game with more brutal looking gameplay. Game looks more melee based. Will be able to sign up for open BETA until June 18th.

Dishonored 2; Haven't played the first game so I'll do what I did with Doom. Protagonist name is Emily. She's was parkouring throughout the town finding a building found some dude with two robot guards. You can play throughout the game as a recurring character and Emily. They have their own abilities. You can beat the game without killing anyone. Dishonored Definitive Edition for PS4 and Xbone.

ESO talk; There was a trailer that took place in the Imperial City with plenty of Oblivion looking assets and a new city I missed the name of that was known as the land of orcs.

Elder Scrolls Legends; Strategy based card game that looks a lot like Hearthstone. Bored at this point. Free to play. On PC and IOS.

Fallout 4; I got really bored for him to get done building hype. Starting spinning head around and made myself dizzy. Some skinny dude walked on stage and started talking about about how this is their first E3. SHUT THE FUCK UP ALREADY AND TALK ABOUT FALLOUT 4!!! Even the chat agrees with me. Started development after Fallout 3. Showing off concept art. Went to go get a soda. This concept art really does look lovely. Game will start pre-Great War. Game starts with a couple in a bathroom and the game starts with a facial sculpting for player creation. You can play as a woman and depending on the way you create sculpt the couple will determine what a baby looks like. A vault tech rep shows up at the couple door and you set the players SMART skills. Baby will have a randomly generated name. Nuclear alarms go off and the couple makes their way to the vault. Explosion happens and couple gets into vault. 200 years later you, the sole survivor of vault 111 emerges from the vault. Uses a next generation engine. A robot Codsworth that was serving the couples house survived the Great War and meets the player character. Player character meets a dog and becomes a companion. VATS makes a return. Shots of the world were showcased. Chat is going wild with excitement. Shows a Pipboy that was attached to a skeletal hand. Pipboy goes through startup menu and shows off different menu options. There's going to be a layered armor system. Pipboy can play Arcade style games in game. A real life Pipboy that can use your phone with an app was announced and can provide a second screen experience to act as the in game Pipboy. Chat's going batshit again. Fallout Shelter announced. 2D sidescroll style game where you are the overseer of a vault and take care of vault dwellers. Many different rooms can be made and you can send vault dwellers out into the wasteland. Raiders can attack and dwellers can breed. It's going to be free and no paywalls offline play. IOS exclusive? Back to Fallout 4 you can build your own structures and use in game objects as scrap to rebuild the world around you. You can also house NPCs and traders with end game items show up this way. You can build power grids for you city and set up terminals, turrets, and lights. Raiders will attack your settlement. You can build anywhere and thousands of items can be scrapped to build weapon upgrades. Weapons look incredibly dynamics with upgrades as well as a set of power armor. First person and third person is kept in mind. 11-10-15 release date.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I think Bethesda may have won E3 2015 before it the rest even had a chance to begin.
They had a pretty good first ever press conference. There were boring parts, but over all it was informative and may have made me want to pick up Doom.

While the fanboys cry about Fallout 4's graphics, somewhere out there in aGGro land, an SJW is crying because Fallout 4 only has a cis-white male in the trailer and it ain't enough until they get the option to play as a transracial dragonkin. Anita Sarkeesian finishes her series only to bitch about the trailer being male protagonist only.

well now it has the option to play as a female, still there is no sign of being playable as a trans, so they are triggered anyway

Hell yes! The Dishonored sequel has been confirmed! :heart-full: I enjoyed the first game a lot more than I expected to.

...but it's annoying that a second remaster will be on the way. A definitive edition was already released last gen. Eh, whatever.

Damn! I just found out that more Scalebound information will not be shown at E3; they're waiting until Gamescom. :heart-empty: That's the only X1 exclusive I care about, aside from Sunset Overdrive.

At least I'm excited to know more about Star Fox Wii U, the new Ratchet & Clank, and Street Fighter V. And at least Capcom will be giving Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition some attention. I love that series.

How would you be any different from a male or female if you're trans, physically? Isn't that what they want, to look good too?

It doesn't matter to them. They want developers to waste their time making every single item of clothing in the game wearable by both genders despite the fact the vast majority of players won't use it, instead of allocating resources to making the gameplay fun and expansive and the plot interesting. Once that happens, the next hot topic will be how Dress X has a small amount of clipping when used on Player Body Y, clearly therefore lazily-programmed and clearly therefore transphobia.

I've seen a whole MMO community argue for months— literally months about the grass not looking realistic enough in the game's beta, some even threatening to leave if it isn't changed.

Trust me, these guys will fit right in.

XBox One announced backwards compatibility of XBox 360 games.

...Huh. Didn't see that coming

Does make sense though. It's obviously meant to neuter Sony's PlayStation Now before it gets off the ground, in the same vein that PSN's free service drew away from XBL's paid subscription.

fight game sperging about the e3 match footage:

so sf5 looks disappointing. the v-skill mechanic sounds dope on paper, but what have we seen so far?

ryu - a parry, which will probably be used against projectiles
nash - a projectile absorb
bison - projectile counter

so far, the 3 unique skills we know about all do the same exact thing, or at least cover the same aspect of the neutral game. plus v-trigger reminds me x-factor, which is definitely not good. tatsu>dragon punch dealing 25% health?

on the plus side, no invincible backdashes or crouch teching. plus, i saw a shoryuken get stuffed, so maybe there will be actual meaty attacks in this game.

footage for the curious

So if anyone noticed, Steve Gaynor - otherwise infamously known as part of the company that created Gone Home - announced Tacoma in the Microsoft Press Conference.

You can bet McIntosh is going to shill the hell out of it within the next few hours.

Can you link any footage perchance?

[UPDATE]:
Looks very pretty, but I am worried about the core gameplay. I personally loved Street Fighter IV, so I hope the sequel is just as engaging.

[SECOND UPDATE]: Dat holographic work for Minecraft. I'm assuming that kind of imagery is just through your lens without the special camera they're employing.

Dat Hololense. Does anyone recall that thing Chris proposed about plugging in Pokemon carts into a Pokeball like peripheral, summon their pokemonz with a hologram display, and battle others? The Hololense might make that possible... Too bad we might need hackers if MS keeps this tech to themselves.

I doubt it will remain unique for long. Sony has Morpheus, and it's unlikely Nintendo would sit it out unless it's not as amazing as originally proposed. That kind of technology would breathe a lot of new life into their franchises.

Also, TEN THOUSAND GAMERSCORE!!! (A "feature" pushed for Rare's collection pack). I expect it to become a meme shortly.

[UPDATE]:
Okay, so MS's Press Conference wasn't bad. Virtually no Kinect influence, all games - despite most not being too surprising, no Call of Duty (expect it in Sony conference), free backwards compatibility and a couple of IPs revealed (ReCore looked good).

It seems they took a much harder look at making their E3 conference enjoyable, and as said in my profile that was easily the best XBone-based conference yet. So, let's see what Sony and Nintendo have to bring to the fore (though Nintendo Championships yesterday was pretty fucking cool).

If I had to hazard a guess, Sony could try to reverse their policy on making PSNow a paid service, but that would undoubtedly result in a lot of lost revenue - so very unlikely. More likely is they'll appease footage on long-awaited games (Kingdom Hearts 3, Last Guardian, MGSV) which should generate more than enough interest.
