At least SEGA's yakuza games are funky even if they're a really weird company (Isolation rooms etc.)

Its sort of weird being a zoomer born in late 2001 and simply lacking the capacity to enjoy games that are shat out by the industry nowadays. I'd much rather play Daggerfall or Blood than what most of my friends goad me into purchasing.

I remember being back in highschool and despairing at all the spunkgargleweewee shooters that my friends bought but wow I would legitimately beg for a 2013 era industry back.
Despite all the fucking retards in the indie dev scene, they never had actual industry pull.

In my experience gamers in my age range(the target demo for most of this shit), they're either mouth breathing idiots who'll play anything or terminally online autists who are perfectly willing to play games from the last 30+ years if nothing new catches their interest. People in the first group just watch the trailers and don't need E3 and the second group might have a few games they're looking for news on, but otherwise just watch for laughs.

There's really no reason for E3 to exist because neither group gets anything out of it they won't get from a Nintendo direct style video or TGAs. And the organizers aren't pretending that it's a trade show anymore. So instead it's just a way for Amazon to shill shit nobody wants and companies to shove SocJus shit in our face because they know it'll get no attention otherwise.

I have a co-worker with a few years on me and he's the sort of guy who gets angry if I tell him not to buy the Mass Effect collection because 3 was a wet fart. (But he's nice enough)
He doesn't buy games, he just subscribes to Xbox game pass. Make of that what you will.

I'll give you Virtualboy, but you do know that the only Sega system to have more worldwide lifetime sales than the Wii U was the Genesis/Mega Drive, right? Everything else sold less than it. It's library is pretty mediocre compared to the Dreamcast(And even the Saturn), but I am solely talking about units sold.

I still wouldn't call it a success by any stretch(the second worse-selling Nintendo home console, the Gamecube, did significantly better, and had actual 3rd party support), but people blow how bad it did out of proportion, as if it was anywhere comparable to the distaster of the Virtual Boy to the point they need to be brought up together in a group. It's like comparing a low-quality fast food burger to the Nasty Patty from Spongebob

I think the biggest Nintendo Fuckup is the 64DD add on. Nintendo dump few years of resources on the 64DD only for it to arrive too late dead on arrival. Considering how it was a decent in the west and lackluster in Japan, 64DD investment really held back Nintendo for that period.

But boy I would love to mess with that F-Zero Expansion kit on my actual N64 though.

They clearly have some bizarre resentment against the games they themselves have published, it's fucking bizarre as hell but I really do think that's the case, they genuinely hate the fans of their games and want us to suffer.

The only thing I can theorize is that there's some personal grudge between the people that run the company and the creative talent, things that were said, arguments that were had etc, you don't do stuff like sack Team Silent just because they made one game that was somewhat meh and then proceed to farm out the ip to shitty western developers that turned in games that were so much worse, you don't do stuff like literally release a game unfinished as is the case with MGSV, that reeks of some sociopath fucking with people on purpose because he finds it funny.

Compare it to Capcom, Capcom has gone through some awkward phases over the years in the pursuit of money, but they don't hate their fans like Konami does, they want their fans to be happy, they're at least trying.

By the grace of God I would do anything to get a new silent hill game in the style of the 1st 4 and with modern visuals. Konami won't sell their IPS until they're in a real desperate financial situation and considering how their making money with pachinko machines that isn't happening anytime soon. A brand new silent hill game, provided its as innovative as the first 2 by the standards of the time, would be a welcome relief considering how I just don't like most horror games from the indie scene at all.

Momotaro Dentetsu is actually Konami's best-selling game on Switch, surpassing the 3 million units sold in Japan alone (bear in mind that in the scale of japanese game sales, games very rarely break the 1 million milestone too) and it was developed with a really small budget.



Fun games are not that expensive to make even today, it's just there are publishers believing that everything must have AAA-tier production values in order to sell well, despite that's not quite the case.
