It's pretty clear to see from stuff like Bayonetta, if you ask them now they'll say they were never against it and love Bayonetta as a strong womxn owning the patriarchy

The fact Microsoft bought a crapton of studios and basically left all of them in auto-pilot is hilarious, they have like 4 different action-RPGs on a medievil setting in development (Elder Scrolls 6, Fable 4, Everwild, Avowed) and none of them were shown on this E3 will lead to a bunch of self-cannibalization when all of them come out around the same time.

I mean it makes sense based on their schedules, Starfield is a sci-fi RPG and that supposed to come out next year, then 2023 will probably be Avowed, then TOW2 and Fable in 2024 and TESVI in 2025. It's kinda like what they did with Forza where if you like sim racers you know one is coming, and if you like open world racers the same.

Be honest with yourself gaymers. The 3D collect a thon is dead as a AAA title. They're in a position where no matter what they do, not enough people will be happy.

Option A: Make a classic Banjo game. It flops. Microsoft not happy.
Option B: Try something different with Banjo. Fans hate it.

PLAN C. Microsoft makes a fuckton of money each year and can release a loss-leader. Make a normal, "fuck yeah!" Banjo game and all will be good.

so far E3 has only shown me that PS5 will be a useless brick/netflix machine until 2022 and the console itself wont be available outside of scalpers till longer after that.
Xbux seems to try to be alleviating similar fears for its potential owners by making sure to mention ALL OF THIS SHIT ON THE GAMEPASS PLEASE BUY.
Nintendo probably has a few things lined up in the same timeframe and might show off some smaller games coming very soon.
I wonder which console will have higher sales this gen when its all said and done.

They had two ideas for a new Banjo game before they went with this abomination. One was a remake in the same style as Conker and the other was actually going to be Three-ie with Gruntilda following you to fuck your shit up. But then someone at Rare went "LETS PUT LEGOS IN BANJO" and thus this game was born. Even after this game was shown to fans, and after the backlash, Rare was like "nah, we'll win over the fan backlash, this is still a good idea!"

Have they continued to go down the road of paying that Harpy yearly like I think Ubisoft, EA (Bioware), and others? AFAIk it was a one time deal and then after it was brought out she basically scammed the money away all the donations stopped from major companies.

I boycotted all the major SJW companies who screeched about their shit on Twitter until for the most part they stopped. Ubisoft has slowly evolved into making games for gamers and less "OMG WYMEN AND TRANZ! LOOK AT UZ!" shit. EA had it's BFV moment and now with BF2042 flipped the script back to gamers (Game's still shit and I won't buy it as I have PVP).

I'm willing to let things slide for companies if they put a halt to their preaching Social Justice comes to a halt and they realized (More than likely Investors told them to stop or they will fire them all) it's not beneficial to the bottom line.

aneeta's grift has run dry for a few years and her last hurrah was TLOU2 which bombed and showed everyone how toxic (in the literal sense) she and her shit is to sales.
it's all about BLM and black representation now. devolver being dumb/uninformed enough to give her money just last month as @Miller mentioned is even worse, because all the virtue signaling has been toned quite a bit across the board compared to last year - not to mention devolver constantly playing the "haha the industry is shit and dumb" angle during e3 makes it an even harder fall from grace.

the other thing about woke companies is that is nice to have principles, but that can easily work against you in the long run - imagine EA actually making a somewhat good game, but no one buying because EA=bad (of course fucking up their reputation is on them in the first place and to some degree they deserve to get fucked for it), but if you don't support the good stuff, what does that signal to companies that want to sell shit? don't get me wrong, there's only so much you can do since voting with your wallet won't make much of a difference, but a least you might get some enjoyable games out of it.

speaking of woke and since you mention it, ubisoft is something to watch out for. after the #metoo hubbub last year they doubled down hard with the pandering - plus they're french, swedes and leafcucks, so expect no brakes on that train. their "making games for gamers" was to a large part down to those "sexist boys club" execs and devs which mandated shit like that will actually sell (among other stuff like everything needing to be open world, so take it as you will). with the danger hairs who don't play games in charge I expect their future output to be even worse than 2019.

Except Bioware, the sooner that companies gets shot into the body pit that is EA's death spiral the better.

anthem's gameplay once you ignored/finished the story was actually quite good and hardly comparable to the rest out there - not that most people would know since the launch was shit and then the memes did the rest. andromeda had the same issue as far as I've heard. they really need to get rid of their shit-tier writers (which mostly jumped ship to destiny and sony/CDPR anyway tho) and clean house, they are not completely unsalvagable, but steadily going towards that point.

Part of me wants to assure you that things will get better, that what we're seeing in the death rattle of a dying ideology that only got the screen time it has due to COVID meaning they have nothing to show.

Another part of me wants to slap you in the face and call you a nimby. Though mostly the first option.

You have to decide what you want. If you don't want woke shit, then stop visiting Kotaku, Polygon, etc. If you want good, non-woke games, stop buying woke games from corrupt publishers that hate you. You have to pick your battles and save ire for games and people that are genuinely shit.

I see people all the time, here and elsewhere, complaining that every furry game is degenerate coomer garbage, but then list Banjo and Starfox as childhood favourites. They complain about indies making retro style boomer shooters, then turn around as complain no one makes games like Doom, Quake, Blood, and Half-Life any more.

Wasn't that the thread a few pages ago everyone was about screaming about boomer shooters at least some are shaping up to be good (falling aces and warlock 2 come to mind ) but there is gonna be stinkers too but at least let's give the good ones the spotlight they deserve and also would rather have boomer shooters over the cancer that was the military shooter craze

Nintendo has a good track record for consistently solid E3 Directs but given the current state of affairs I wouldn't too surprised if it ends up being one last awful show to top off a remarkably awful E3. Keep your Groudon memes at the ready.
