It's amazing, isn't it?

I don't see or hear Sarkessian criticizing the obviously-sexualized Lady Dimitrescu. I tried looking for feminists and all I see is women wanting her to step on them or pick them up by the throat.
Because she's not a young looking beauty that will remind them that their ovaries look like raisins now, slap some power fantasy onto her and you got them satisfied for now

E3 was a real big nothing this year. Nothing but trailers and social justice pandering. Some of the games look interesting though, Excited for the new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 game, haven't played the original but probably will after playing the sequel. The new Battlefield and Far Cry look ok, I've played most of the mainline Far Cry games except for Far Cry 4 but 6 is looking better than what we were getting recently. Not really into Battlefield, but I'll try out the new if it isn't shit. Nothing else really worth noting.

I was taking it easy on Nintendo fans sperging over their direct, but I just got a Switch recently and BOTW fucking blows chunks. Who's excited for a sequel to this?
I agree. I really dislike BOTW. I've given up halfway through on three separate playthroughs because of all the out-of-the-way stuff there is to do. Traversing the massive open world isn't fun and the shrines blow. The only Zelda games I've played and liked were Ocarina Of Time, Majora's Mask, and Windwaker but BOTW pales in comparison to those games, well, maybe not Windwaker, but you get my point.

How to play Breath of the Wild:
  1. finish all the mandatory stuff at the great plateau
  2. pick a direction
  3. go and enjoy your adventure
If you need to be told what to do next at all times, BotW just isn't for you.

I am so tempted to go into a long essay about why BOTW is my favorite game of the past decade, but I won't.

All I'll say is that, it isn't for everyone, and imo, takes less from traditional open world games like Skyrim, and more from immersive sims like Thief, System Shock, and Deus Ex. It gives you a ton of freedom to tackle each objective, and actively encourages experimentation, with 100% completion not being the focus.

Sure but then this could be renamed E3 Griffing thread to reflect this isn't just for this e3, just a suggestion

You haven’t lived until you played Astral Chain yet.

Thanks bro I've played an open world game before.
Come back to us if you decide to play Atelier Ryza on the Switch

And it will be more remasters and remakes, along with making indies with more “diversity” that has nothing to do with gameplay or plot of the game’s storyline

This is a complaint that I've never really shared. Yes, there are a lot of areas that are desolate in the game (which, given that it takes place after a calamity, makes sense). But the environments are filled with elements of environmental storytelling and unexpected encounters that makes traveling them, at least for me, anything but a chore. Just the anticipation of what was around the next corner was a far better motivation for me to explore, rather than just having a map that is cluttered with icons like a typical Ubisoft game. Rather, if something seems interesting, I find myself going to it of my own volition, as opposed to it being marked on with an icon.

Plus, sometimes just reaching the next Shrine or Tower is a puzzle in and of itself. Not to mention the multiple different ways you can travel through the world all makes it worthwhile.

I'm a massive Zelda fan, but BOTW is TOO open for my tastes. I can't even bring myself to play more of it. Everything in this is just not what I go to Zelda for.

All these "different ways to travel" and "multiple ways to kill things" mean literally nothing to me. These "puzzles" are too small and travelling this world is boring me. Yeah, there's all this stuff to gather and things to make and enemies everywhere, but it still feels somehow empty. Every new item I get and shrine I beat feels hollow and worthless.

Like, this world feels WAY too big for its own good and filled with nothing of value. It feels...a lot like Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, actually. Except worse, because those at least had pretty sweet dungeons.

BOTW is just...disappointing. I understand wanting to get in on that Skyrim money, but I seriously miss the old setup.

Seems like you prefer the more traditional style of Zelda games. And hey, there is absolutely nothing wrong with liking the older methods that the previous titles used over the direction that BOTW took.

For me though, I was completely captivated by its level of freedom offered in terms of both playstyle and exploration, and also felt Link becoming much stronger with each Shrine completed, and every new threat vanquished. But again, I get why you would pick the classic Zelda style over it. Personally, I like them both.
