E3 (but not really) 2022

Lol there is literally no reason to buy a PS5 at this point since everything will be on PC eventually.
By the time FF16 comes out there will be a revision that's cheaper, probably.

Sony: Here's some Dad of War and a bunch of Marvel and Hideo Kojima garbage. Here's PSVR 2, so you can have fun not being able to find one while also not finding a PS5.
Damn, I was trying to shit on them and they failed to even hit that low bar.

Woah, I can't wait for SF6! QCF+P is too hard for me to learn how to do.

Does SF have a Sony exclusive contract or something?
No idea

I should rephrase as all these games just said they'd be ON PS5, but I believe REmake 4 is already confirmed for Series X and S while FF may be confirmed timed exclusive?

Either way, I meant more in the way of generation than pure PS5/PS4 exclusivity.

This is getting dangerously close to Super Smash Bros party game instead of fighting game, isn't it?

It's actually more like the VS games "Easy" mode where each button does a special attack. For example, MSH vs SF had this alongside "Manual" mode which was the original mode where you actually did your inputs.

Granted, you had to MASH the buttons in Easy Mode, but still

for those unaware, ff16 looks to be a proper action game, not the bizarre psuedo thing 15 was. 16 has the combat director of DMC5, the best action game of the generation, at the helm. If you're unfamilair with the genre it's hard to explain why 15 feels so wrong and DMC so right, but it comes down to precision. FF15 only lets you set the state of the player, either attack or dodging. timing is completely secondary. in DMC, and just about every action game, timing attacks and dodging is fundamental to why the genre works. There's nothing like bashing an enemy, having his buddy come up behind you, dodge out of the way, smack him back, and then get back to beating the shit out of the original dude. that entire exchange takes a lot of precise timing and takes place under a minute, but goddamn does that dopamine hit feel good.

So Final Fantasy is literally no longer attached to it's origins as an RPG.

I want to give a big fuck you to the past 20 years of Gaming Culture for ruining the best of it's Genre and replacing it with something entirely different.

It's an action RPG which have existed for more than 20 years.

Series like God of War changed their series mechanics for the better. There's no reason why FF couldn't do the same especially since 7R worked a whole hell of a lot better than 13,13-2, LR, and 15.
