What I'm saying is, the first day somebody quits cold turkey---they look pretty tough, but by the end of the first week, it gets rough.

That's not actually quite correct. Whilst consuming refined sugars your body is in a continuous cycle of highs and lows. Like a car with wonky steering continuously over-correcting. The first 2-3 days of cutting out sugar are the worst because at that point it's not psychological, your body is genuinely having crashing sugar lows that cause it to send out huge gnawing hunger pangs crying out for sugar. After 2-3 days your body has righted itself and it's balanced its insulin (Type 1 diabetes not withstanding) and sugar and has started converting fat to energy to keep the noggin jogging as well. After that you will still get psychological cravings, and if you're in calorie deficit rather than merely having started meeting your caloric needs in healthier ways, then you will continue to experience hunger. But it's actually the first few days which are the roughest.

I was going to refrain from responding to this because I felt bad about already going OT so hard but I see the thread now contains entire thesis discussions about common law and also arguments about food additives so here goes:

I know you're just joking but I think it's very important to have an accurate view of this period because it is a critical part of the history of our nation. There is still as yet no clear winner of the American cultural revolution to write history to put themselves firmly on top and present the opposition as dirty scumbags who deserved to lose. All sides are still vigorously engaged in ideological combat. One place this can be seen is the attempt to create a narrative in which everything happens as a function of the cold war. But mostly it was just disorganized and paranoid people trying to make sense of their experience and fixating on cold war spy agencies to do so.

It's the only "reality television" I've ever enjoyed, and god, there's just so much of it! And more fresh content every single day! And they genuinely can't help themselves! I suppose they're kinda like IRL lolcows in that all they really need to do is just shut up, but they can't bring themselves to do it, routinely transforming what would have been a 50$ traffic ticket, or even a simple warning, into multiple felonies, and they truly cannot understand why disagreeable things are happening to them.

Call me stuck up if you want for not eating from the goyslop machine, but I'm NOT eating bread/cheese/meat that doesn't go bad over the course of a month. I'm NOT buying anything thats not a real spice for my spice rack or isn't made of actual real ass ingredients. I'll take the extra hour out of my day to run to the store instead of being lazy if it means avoiding this nonsense.
