Like, Chris couldn't tell that guy on the show was being sarcastic when he said he'd date Chris, or Chris couldn't tell that that girl didn't actually want to have Chris arrested because of his couch. This is too subtle for him. He doesn't understand that he has a forum that is so interested in him that they would be very interested in even the tiniest bit of content he'd make (this post). Plus, in this case, he's threatening a lawsuit, so even if he did understand he had to avoid the limelight, he could possibly get money.

This is what baffles me when people say that Chris isn't retarded. I don't think this just falls under the vague umbrella of 'socially unaware'. Chris has a significant mental deficiency in correctly processing information - especially in a timely manner. If that isn't retardation, I don't know what is.

I guess it's just semantics in the end. There may not even be a proper definition for the perfect storm that is Chris. I do think that "it's because of autism" has become a self-fulfilling prophecy for Chris. Autistics like routines and are socially stunted. Chris knows this, and therefor refuses to break his routines or challenge himself socially because he knows that autistics can't do that. They can, but just with much more effort. But Chris, being autistic, takes it as a concrete inability.

What's the point? In the end, he's just a dummy who'll refuse to amount to anything and blame others for everything. Enjoy loneliness and heart disease, Chris.

As I said, I atribute it as much to Barb as to his ego, if not more. He takes any pampering compliments by Barb at face value....to him his own dear mother wouldn't lie to him!

Chris autistic, yet not properly treated mind cant understand the concept of "white lie", as he cant understand sarcasm or satire either.

Da 'tism play another role on his fucked-up self-image too if we think that according to him he had to look at himself on a mirror for hours when in high school in order to be capable of recognizing his own face. No wonder that when he sees himself on a mirror today he cant see obvious stuff like that he became so fat that he doesnt have a neck anymore...

Chris response to that was telling Jackie that she exceded the "Hurtful Truth Level", so he knows there is some truth to that (He probably hand-picked what was truth, and what was Jackie being mean though, despite all of it being objectively true...)

You'd think so, but you'd be surprised... consider him referring to himself as "sexy" on that failosophy post. Chris has made other outrageous statements like that. Well, more outrageous than that, he was comparing himself to the other guys in that statement. He makes some statements about just himself sometimes that'd blow your mind.

Chris has always known he was handsome since Barb told him he was. However, the reason he would ask his facebook contacts (specifically the girls) if he was handsome would be to get the female girlfriend-target's opinion. He'd always think he was handsome regardless of what they said, but he needs to know their opinion as a practical, strategic matter.

Same thing with the "hurtful truth level", which, by the way, is a great cwcism. I'm going to start using that. But yeah, with the hurtful truth level, he was more referring to the idea that your family or friends can tell you things that are, on the surface, mean, but their justification is that they're just "telling you the truth." Well, plus she's a girl and a potential girlfriend. If she wasn't one, it probably wouldn't take much for him to get pissed and dump him/her.

Anyway, I think the closest Chris would get to admitting flaws in his appearance would be that if you really pressed him on it (and had something to keep him from dumping you, like being a girl or something) he might admit that you're right about something. Like say he needs to cut his hair or something. But he'd just frame that as a single flaw and he's otherwise super handsome or some shit.

Has he ever compared his looks to another living person? Has he ever acknowledged another living person as handsome?

From his drawings, I think he at least knows that muscles and glass-free faces are considered handsome, but I kind wonder if he knows much else what's considered handsome. Clearly there's a cognitive dissonance, where he refuses to see that he's a thousand times fatter than he draws himself and wears rapist glasses... But - and, bear in mind, I'm just spitballing here - what if he's not ignoring the acne, thinning hairline, rats nest of hair in the back, oil, sweat, odor, crooked nose, cro-magnon brow, crooked chin, inhuman eyes, and rotting teeth?
