I'm a sword and board kind of guy, so I'd eventually farm wraiths at Undead Crypt for Blue Flame. Weapons that are also spell catalysts are an amazing idea, too bad ER has none.

I got through the Bell Covenant grind by dual wielding blue flames. Buff the swords with one another, disguise as a pot, shove a crystal spear up their arsenal when they climb to the Bell tower.

Absolutely fucked if they survived though ha.

I've done this for entire sessions. Change your name to Traitor Blue or Estus Piniata.
Bonus points if you wear all of the gear that increases damage taken.
Radagon and Marika seals + that one from snake girl. Then just go take your dog for a walk.
Or you just drag the absolute worst mobs in the zone to the host.

On another subject I've seen a lot of people bitch about ER not having the equivalent of Seed of a Tree Giant.
These people don't remember in DS3 prepatch when they functioned like DS2. You could just bring the entire zone with you using quick step.

I disagree with the notion that the gender-bending/gay storylines are inherently "faggy" or pandering. FromSoft is one of the few creative entities that showcases how unnatural and twisted those concepts are. They aren't celebrated, and they're often restricted to monarchs and gods for a reason. If anything, it hearkens back to a time in entertainment when gay behavior was used to disgust and freak out the main character(s), especially over in Japan.

I'm someone who's exhausted of faggotry and other seemingly mandatory tropes in media, but this has always been artistically motivated. Miquella is a weird, androgynous, mind-controlling rapist. It was pretty easy to deduce if you paid attention during the base game. This kind of character can absolutely exist without there being a hint of identity politics muddling the story.

There were Redditor newcomers who were genuinely heartbroken that Miquella didn't end up being a good guy (despite him being an obvious homage to Berserk's antagonist) because they wanted, rather, expected a tranny-femboy thing to be the story's true hero. They approached it with western mindsets and weren't aware of this theme repeatedly popping up in FromSoft's previous titles in a negative, eerie way.

I think Miyazaki just likes femboys/effeminate male design and you are coping and seething over it because he is not homophobic sperg like you.

If anything the game never says that the Gods have human sexuality or the human concept relationships and love. Particularly considering that both Miquella and Marika are actually two different aspects/beings, one masculine and the other feminine, in the same body, which strongly implies the way Gods reproduce and their existence in general is very alien. The Idea of a consort seems to be something more metaphysical than a relationship proper

Nah, my running theory is this was part of why they could get the Elden Ring trademark last year. This is a "separate" game bearing the name, enemies, weapons of Elden Ring that just so happens to also be published by Bandai Namco when a game like this absolutely does not need publisher money to be produced. The theory is the money they'd get from this is essentially a payment plan which also lets them try their hand at making a bootleg Risk of Rain 2 or w/e, either needing to perform decently because they gave the minimum needed for their cut or very well because this was also putting money into Fromsoftware researching the indie/modding part of the games industry for future consideration. Of course they want a roaring success either way but one has a lower ceiling for paying them back, with not doing so potentially shaping future relations if this is what's happening.

... But having thought about From being asked about Seamless Co-op and how long randomizers have existed this could just be playing catch up. Hell, LotF had their playthrough modifiers for almost a year at this point and Nightreign has Duchess' bootleg soulflay. We'll have to see how much post launch support it gets and the coding to see how much they value this game or certain aspects of it (which given the fact they just let the director throw in Dark Souls enemies with multiple model entities like Freja probably just to mess with them in the model program I doubt they're treating it as a serious project).

I just completed my replay of SotE and the bosses are cancer without dual-wield / block / high HP cheese, but I'm still impressed by how they improved on the dull open world of base ER by introducing verticality and making the search for zone connections suitably challenging and mysterious: it made the open world feel like a sort of super-dungeon rather than perfunctory connective tissue.
