FromSoft making ANOTHER battle royale game? What the fuck? Did they get a new director with a hardon for PUBG and Fortnite all of a sudden?

I was excited for the more bonkers-looking aspects like the jetpack-diving-suit guy but knowing it's all for just another GaaS game is a real disappointment.

Multiplayer only
Battle royale
Switch exclusive.

Been playing an Int build using carian sword sorceries and it's pretty kino. Carian greatsword/Adula's moonblade followed up by Carian piercer deals really good damage and Carian piercer alone bullies Crucible knights. I wish Gavel of Haima was considered a Carian sorcery so it benefits from the glintblade staff's passive.

I've been poking through the DLC on a 40+8 Wretch twink. 40 real vigor and not running scarseals or soreseals. I screwed up on a different twink and missed out on Ansbacks Incantation + the Incantation from the Dragon Priestess.I want it for save scumming purposes for invading.
Not using the seals has been a complete night and day difference as far as being able to survive big hits. I've had zero issues so far and have cleared out every single boss/dungeon before shadow keep aside from Bayle. I'll just tangle with that after getting +15 or so Scooby Fragments.
I'm probably gonna take on Shadow Keep tonight. Or kill the Hippo at least and get all of the little side areas dealt with that it unlocks before Mesmer (More Scooby Fragments)
I honestly don't see Mesmer being nearly as much of an issue as he was before. The DLC stuff hits like a truck when the damage increase from the seals gets factored in. It's also giving a little more wiggle room to add in elemental defense talismans as needed. Those things are putting in some serious work.

Multiple Battle Royale slop games with micro transactions.

Shitty Hollywood movies.

This is why going mainstream is a fucking disaster for nerd shit.

Prediction:
The aesthetics and art design are going to look awful, it'll be digitally shot, all green screen and CGI, flat and dark looking. No practical effects. And instead of the mostly ambiguous storytelling, it'll be some sort of exposition bomb and then some generic "we have to defeat big evil dragon" plot. Bonus points for running around in an mostly generic European medieval setting like you've seen a thousand times before in any other fantasy production.

In all seriousness, has there ever been a movie adaptation of a game that's any good? Halfway decent?
I'm thinking of the Dead Space animated movies, but those were made as a sort of promotional material, with stories set before the first game and inbetween first and second game. So, they're more extended lore sources (like books) then adaptation.

Are there even modern actors that aren't shit? You don't even have a Mortal Kombat situation where the cast alleviates the shlock.

Elden Ring doesn't even have a story, it's just mass murdering of enemies and monsters.

And A24 is the second worst pedowood studio right now, only behind Disney, so this is going to be a turbo slop.

The director only makes edgy military films, apparently. The guy never shot a sword in his life. What's going on?

Good or fun? Because Uwe Boll's Postal and the first Doom movie (the one with The Rock in it) aren't good movies by any means but they are extremely entertaining.
