Famed manga-anime artist Leiji Matsumoto died at the age of 85. The soundtrack of his animated film Queen Millennia is an early masterpiece of Kitaro, who, after two albums of sonic experiments, started organizing his music in a more coherent, melodic style, conveys a deep sense of deep humanity through his analog synths. I've posted the theme on the Matsumoto thread, but this piece "Jiyo Eno Kakehashi" ("Bridge To Freedom") is perhaps even more evocative of a journey towards outerspace: the expectation, the sense of adventure, the desolation, the homesickness...
While we are on space adventures, here is another piece of beautiful music "Merlin's Last Voyage" by Kevin Braheny and Tim Clark. The sound are created with gigantic modular synths and Steiner EWI. Merlin's last voyage was intergalactic.
I was a bit split on if I should post this on electronic or feels music thread. I used to consume copious amounts of stimulants and dance and fuck to this beat. I'm over that now, but my heartbeat still quickens every time I hear this track, it's some pavlovian shit. Hands down best industrial electronic track I've heard, the pace is just perfect for moving your body to. The beat is just perfectly harsh so you feel it rip through your sweaty body.
