When you look at the "How it started, how its going" side-by-side comparison, the
tra
nsformation is glaring. She went from looking soft and delicate to rigid and fragile.
after the troonout her career isn't getting better, quite the opposite.
That's because the gag is the flash-in-the-pan excitement they get for coming out. However, you can only come out once (unless you escalate from one letter to another, as she did), and the novelty wears off faster than before because of society's collective short attention span and the next gender special right around the bend wanting to be the "the first LGBT, BPIOC, CPT, intersectionality of 5th and Main to [do some action]..."
Plus, it doesn't work artistically. So, does this mean she's sticking exclusively to male roles from now on? She'll never be a leading man in a romantic comedy. They're 6' at minimum and have this thing called charisma. To that end, she doesn't have the comedic chops to laugh at anything (heaven forbid herself). Action? If we're finding it hard to believe (but begrudgingly accept) that a slender woman can take down a hulking brute, what makes you think any respectable studio is going to to cast a 5' twink bodied individual in an action role? Horror? Maybe. But not the villain.
A protagonist, but not
the protagonist. And, they may have to be sensitive around the body horror aspect, lest its triggering.
She could reasonably only do arthouse and Indies almost exclusively with an LGBT slant (which comes with less pay and prestige). Basically, she pigeonholed herself in the worst possible scenario. Buy, hey, she's happy. Just look at any post SRS image.
i would feel that way before the teet yeet. once those are gone im no longer interested in saving her.
Anyone notice the glint in her eye when ASAP brushed her hair aside (
which is kinda gay considering the circumstances, right?) in that
ad? This makes me believe that she was never really a lesbian. Bi, sure, at best. She would've been into boys and girls had Hollywood, and her childhood before then, not caused her to speedrun to the SRS endpoint.
One can only hope that those who come after us will learn from this to become better and not doomed to repeat this mistake regardless if they are progressed or regressed.
My pastor (because, yes, I'm inside the church nowadays as if it were a fallout shelter) made a point that life is cyclical. This is the point in our timeline where we are experiencing the stage of degeneracy at its height. It'll topple over, we'll go back to a somewhat moral life, until the next time. If you're old enough, you've seen microcosms of other societal issues (or even trends) come and go, and come back. Historical texts are filled with examples of us doing essentially the same thing. So, you tell me, are we bound to repeat this mistake?
Edit: Are we just not gonna talk about how she is trying to look like James Dean on her book cover? oof.
She may have stuck the landing if she didn't look so damn uncomfortable. I'm sure the photo shoot was a marathon of affirming and cajoling to get her warmed up, and this was the best photo of the lot!
Edit to add, a bit OT - I got to thinking after mention of The Last of Us, Bella Ramsey is basically an understudy for Page. She's a they/them, 5'1 anorexic vegan. I bet within a decade she's a full blown pooner. I wonder who molested her on the set of GOT.
Its kinetic energy at this point. I don't necessarily believe Bella was bad touched. We are simply at the point where the inclination can be picked up by osmosis. If the contagion is prevalent in your average Midwestern high school, then the concentration is definitely higher in the bastion that is Hollywood.
Saying that David Cage is kind of a creepy fuck too, I remember when someone broke the code for Beyond Two Souls and let you move the camera and it turned out they'd modeled Page completely nude for the shower scene.
Never one to avoid drama, she kicked up a big stink about being "violated" which at the time seemed like just drama queen shit, its just a computer model, right, but when you realize she'd been molested it did probably fuck her up, especially with those damn voices giving her shit about it, I bet they weren't too kind.
His history of gratuitous nudity in gaming goes back, friendo. I played Heavy Rain that contained *spoiler* a shower scene with the female protagonist. This one didn't require a camera break to see. I remember playing Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy that also had a sex scene that, I guess, was essential to the narrative.
Slight OT, but I always held the belief that a majority of nudity in media is effectuated by otherwise undesirable men as a means of lording power over the subject. Additionally, it gives them fodder to pleasure themselves to whenever. Like, for real, how many dailies have been spanked to by a director or editor in their off time? How many of them have personal libraries? No wonder actresses feel like gazelles in a world full of hyenas. Once you've seen a Selma Hayek's breasts just a bouncin' in 4K, you feel like you have a shot. And if not, you just Harvey Weinstein and plow through consent accidents.
Ellie....
Ellen...
Her being tapped to play Ellie has reached Mandela Effect levels at this point. Though, it would not surprise me if Cuckmann probably reached out to her (and she wasn't available because she was doing Beyond...). It's also not out of the realm of possibility his obsession over her (I mean, she was undeniably adorable back then). His wife Maya is a petite brunette, so him having a "type" tracks.
