Some deranged lesbian pooners go out and start getting banged by men in bathhouses for "validation" or whatever. But in Ellen's case, I think when she pretends to be a gay man it just means that she is into dating other FTMs (ie other insane butchered lesbians, because she's still just a lesbian.)
