I disagree. We have some living proof that this is the case for some parents. Kai Shappley's parents, for example, couldn't accept him as a feminine gay kid, but eventually accepted him (at least the mother) as a "trans girl". It's also one of the things that the stuff who left Tavistock before it was shut down said, that parents were coming to them and told them they just don't want a gay kid, everything but a gay kid.

Here is a video I just recently encountered - a trans woman, one who passes well, telling his story of how his gender dysphoria. The story is basically that he was a feminine boy and then also discovered he is gay, he got endless amount of negative reactions from his surrending - including his parents. Then, when he was still a teen, he decided he is actually a trans woman. When he told his mother, she was actually happy about it and helped him, gave him wigs and makup and such.

I don't think the parents think about trans women (for example) as real women, but that they think their son can look like a woman and be accepted enough as a woman. Which is better than have a very affiminate man for a son, who is like a neon sign screaming about being different in a way they probably consider indicent, inappropriate and shameful.

This, of course, depands on how much the parents think their kid could look like the other sex. If your son looks masculine, he is probably going to look like even a bigger freak than he already is as an affiminate man. If he is young enough or doesn't look very masculine, though, this may work. With daughters it's of course easier.

Of course they don't love troons. Troons in Iran tend to live in squalor and are treated as a joke. The point is that if the mullahs *have* to choose between a tranny-fied gay and a normal gay person, they'll choose the tranny sex pest. Normal gay people don't even get the option to live in squalor and be treated as a joke – they get the options of death or being turned into trannies (either as punishment by the state or in order to escape persecution).

There's a sexual aspect to the legislation which is that it's not considered haram for men to have sex with a tranny-fied man. This is because that tranny-fied man is now legally considered a woman. For example, here's Fereydoon "Maryam Khatoon" Molkara, the first tranny to get state-sanctioned SRS in Iran (with Ayatollah Khomeini's blessing), and his husband Mohammad. Marriage between two men is halal if one of the men is considered a "woman".

Iran is the only country that actively uses state-sanctioned troon surgeries as a weapon and a "cure" against homosexuality, but it's not the only Muslim country where certain forms of MSM behavior, notably sex with young boys, are tolerated because Muslim men have found ways to justify it as "not being gay". Bacha bazi is a well-known example of this.
